HOI is The Twilight Zone Game of 2003

Playing the US with 1.03. 1936 start. No Mods. Fresh Install for 1.03.

It is 1940, England has asked that I join the alliance. I say yes.

Spain is part of the German Alliance, she invades Casablanca, I land an Army in Casablanca, 9 Divisions with Bradley in charge.

I win. I land 3 Airgroups. Two Free French Divisions move into the province.

France goes Vichy. Casablanca becomes Vichy French.

All my Divisions and Air units disappear. No fight, gone.

They are not in the pool, they are gone.

Like this Game from my Hard Drive.

Gone.

Wow.. you come across one bug in a computer game and uninstall it?
Much more fun to try to come up with 'historical' reasons why your troops disappeared... (They all caught VD from the French prostitutes, or were on their way back and disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle, or all deserted to follow the nomadic way of life of the Bedouins they befriended on their expedition, etc..)
Have some patience and wait for 1.04. :)

This certainly sounds like an extremely unusual bug that I haven't heard of before with the 1.03 as you describe it. Unistalling a game because you encounter a single bug of this nature probably does qualify for Twilight Zone status though.

Well, call it a guess but here is what probably happened.

1) Your American airgroup lands on allied territory.

2) Allied troops move into the territory.

3) The territory changes hands twice - first to Vichy then back to Free France.

4) Change of province ownership destroys enemy aircraft in the province - namely because you are at war with Vichy France.
