Re: Evil exploit :)

Find some 1 province country allied to someone on whom you have CB-shields.. Dow & siege the 1provincer.. ask for peace, don`t annex, but demand provinces with shields!

Surely this small country thinks this is a great deal, they loose nothing and their ally loses only, say 40% from 100% demand:D :D

Can you offer a nation (I assume it is the alliance leader) peace on the condition that one of its alliance brothers gives you a province that you do not control? Or have I misunderstood you?

Yep. Of course, you have to be able to demand the province
from the alliance brother (which usually means have a cb on
that province).

It's easy to do this as Byzantium.

The Knights typically ally with the Mamelukes, and Teke
tends to ally with the Ottoman Empire, at least for a while.

So DoW Teke, say, take the province, then demand Macedonia and
Smyrna. Meanwhile, of course, the Ottomans are happily seiging
Thrace, if they haven't already taken it and moved on to Morea.

Also works very well against Venice as Byzantium. You do have
to be playing a nation with a truckload of CB shields, though.

The problem that this is exposing is that alliance wars don't
calculate peace resolutions well.

As Byzantium, I was in a war with Moldovia versus the Ottomans.

Moldovia had taken 3 provinces, I had taken 3. I was seiging the
rest, but decided to see what the peace resolution looked like.

I was very surprised to only see 32% score - when I hovered over
the numbers, I saw that all of the provinces Moldovia had taken
(as many as I had) weren't being counted.

While this is the exact reverse of the exploit above, it's just
as annoying.

Yeah. It's rather annoying, though, since it pretty much means
that in any war, you have to go for total conquest if you want
a decent peace.

This is not a bug but an exploit of a design problem. We have proposed another system that integrates alliances more effectively, but Paradox has no time to integrate it yet... So you will have to play with that one.
