Critical Error Bug

Every so often, while loading a game, I get a Critical Error for lines 65935, 36, 37. When I ask the game to ignore them, the game boots up fine, but my inflation is driven to zero.

This is off of the latest patch, running the game on a computer with way more than the required resources, using the Direct X version supplied.

Has this happened to others? Is there a way to fix it? Its damn frustrating to play the game when it happens late in the game and I am given such a free boost for no reason, or the game does not boot at all because of the critical errors....

I can think of three ways this could be happening for you.

1/ You are running the EEP or other modification to the standard scenarios, in which case there is nothing we can do for you.

2/ Your game installation has become corrupt. Uninstall EU2, defrag your disk, then reinstall EU2 plus 1.05. Preserve your saved games elsewhere just in case.

3/ This happens after you quit the game, it has the crash from the surrender screen to the desktop instead of exiting peacefully, then you run EU2 again without rebooting. No real fix for this except a/ sometimes updating your video drivers or b/ upgrading from win9x/me to win2000/xp, which usually fixes this problem for good.
