Bug: Can't Place Traders/Incorrect Marriage Notices

Just started a new game as Sibir after applying that 1.03 patch. I have already found two bugs in the American version.

1. I can't place traders at Astrakhan even though it is not across an ocean and all of my provences send their goods there. Even after I captured a province with a port, Azow, I still could not.

2. I keep getting messages stating that my marriage with the Golden Horde has expired, but it hasn't.

Ok, Astrakhan is considered in Europe while Sibir is in Asia. So even if you are on the same land mass, you need a port to send merchants there. You mentionned in your post that you had capture the port of Azow, but in the game you sent me, you don't have it; could you send me the one where you have Azow?

#2, I didn't received any message about GH in 10 years; I did receive one for Ak Konoyu and the RM was really terminated. Don't know... If it does happen again, send me your last autosave and a saved game just after the event (I'll check the logs before and after).

Can't send merchants to Astrakhan COT

Playing as Sibir, I can send traders to other nearby COT's (Samarkand, Ishafan etc), but not the Astrakhan one - the popup says I do noy have access to a habour to send the merchants to. Although the various European COT's (Novgorod, Courland, etc) say the same thing, it seems unreasonable that I can't sent traders to the Astrakhan COT! (especially since it is the nearset COT, which covers some of my provinces). I suspect it's a leftover from when it was switched from Danzig to Astrakhan.

it's just the opposite VKV ;)

Astrakhan is considered in Europe and Sibir is in Asia. You'll need a port to access that CoT.

I had someone reporting a similar bug earlier but he said he was unable to send merchants even after conquering Azov. However, in the save game he sent me, Azov was not in Sibir's hands and he hasn't sent me another game.

Ah, so it's not a bug but a quirk of the rules - even though the Astrakhan COT is the nearest, it's on another continent!

Sorry, that was a different game, which I don't have any longer. The one I sent you was the later one where I had provinces bordering Astrakhan.

Ok here is the deal:

your port need to be on the same continent as your Capital province otherwise it doesn't count. Sibir is in Asia, so you need a port in Asia. I have used cheats in smallflyingtaco's game to expand up to the other end of Siberia and with a colony on the Pacific, I am now able to send merchants in Astrakhan.

This pop-up text doesn't make that clear, so I might end up logging a documentation bug, if I can ever get my e-mail to work so i can retrieve my spreadsheet

Not a real good solution in my mind. I am not so much interested in allowing the central asian powers to trade in Europe and Africa. I think a simpler solution and what I proposed on the EUIII wish list is so that you can always send traders to the CoT where the goods your capital makes go. It would fix this problem, and it would still prevent me from sending traders to Europe. This though would still not let Uzbek and Khazak send traders to Astrakhan which might not be a good thing, if I recall their goods go to Samarkand and they have no ports.
