Can not split Fleets if they contain Carriers

I am playing as England (should really be the United Kingdom, as the Scots, Welsh and Nortern Irish will get upset at this English-centric view, but hey) in the 1936 scenario.

I am trying to make my fleets more effective by setting them up as no more than 12 units in size. Mostly I can do this without problems but if there is a Carrier in the "create new" button is replaced by "Order carried planes". I can usually get around this by either upgrading individual ships or by strategically redeploying them.

So am I being stupid and missing something or is this a bug?

Do you have air units on the carriers?

If so, then thats your problem. Offload them to another fleet or bettter yet to land whilst you split your fleet!

Its known and apparently wont be fixed! Im not happy about it either, but that was the last update unless a MOD believes otherwise.....

It won't be fixed apparently... logged more than once. It seems like a code problem.

OK guys, I know that I can get around it by offloading the planes, but I thought I would see of this was a known bug.
