NOT A BUG: 1.05 CTDs with pre-1.05 EEP

help help help......

my problems with eu2 seem to be endless I am running the uk ubisoft 1.05 patch and the eep. Everytime i start a new game or i load a file it says: "there were errors in the scenario files" and asks whether i want to continue. i do, but if i save when i try to load my save file it crushes. This happens everytime with almost all files. only some early ones dont do it, i dont know why. Since i am running the eep_byz with the byzantine empire i am wondering if it has to do with any events, since by the time i stop a game the otthoman empire is ussually vassalised by me (around 1430) whereas the files that load and dont crush are around 1920-25 (before i get a first byzantine-turkish war resolution). I dont know if its an eep bug, but i certainly need help. (the normal grand campaign loads with the message: "errors in scenario files" too. Please help, as the situation is now i simply cant play at all. Paradox shouldnt release such a bug-plagued game

I'm pretty sure this is an EEP bug and nothing to do with the patch. Don't worry because people are working on making the EEP work with the 1.05 patch...

They didn't. You added an unofficial modification which was also untested against 1.05. You cannot expect it to work properly.

I suggest you uninstall the game entirely, reinstall and apply 1.05 straight away, don't install the EEP or any other mod.. Play it now and see if you still have so many problems. I'll bet you don't.

i wouldnt be too sure about that, i had a freeze save files bug problem with 1.04 (without eep) and maybe even with 1.05 alone, however i will try. the game although IS bug-plagued, if i didnt have net access i would be playing with 1.04 now and not be able to load anything at all. Mind you maybe even with 1.05 and no eep it will be the same story

You could either go with the 1.05 patch and wait until the EEP is fixed. Or you could go back to 1.04 patch and then you could reinstall the EEP, if you want to use the EEP.

But alot of bugs have been fixed in 1.05, so your problem quite possibly has been fixed. I haven't played much with it yet, but CTDs seem to happen alot less.

come now, if the eep was working properly with the 1.4 patch do you think i would have downloaded 1.5? With 1.4 i couldnt load a single game

I think that is going way too far. Certainly there are problems which are actively being worked on. At least we publish a public list of known bugs, and (IMO) supply the best support anywhere. If you have a reproduceable CTD we can normally get it diagnosed and fixed within a couple of days. Where else can you get that kind of response?

If you didn't have net access you wouldn't have the EEP either, and 1.04 without EEP certainly works (not perfectly, obviously) and can load games just fine.

Sure, as long as it was generated by a game played entirely under 1.05, with no mods applied. Zip up the .eug and .eug.cfg files and email to ataubman@ducros.com.au , with your forum Nick, a link to this thread, and instructions on how to duplicate the problem. Thanks.

The files you sent were both little .eug.cfg files, no .eug file. Can you send the .eug.cfg and the matching .eug file please?

not any more, they are erased. however i tried the 1.5 with the normal game and i didnt face any problems. so i will have to wait for a compatible with 1.5 eep and hope for the best
