They are - That map is largely useless. Only in provinces that exist at gamestart are goods pre-defined. Everywhere else the game uses a table and rolls a result - even for the Portoguese and Castillean colonies off of Europe.

It would still allow you to keep track of the already formed colonies and their trade goods. It's better than being competely in the dark and having to check manually time after time if the resources for all new colonies are already known and if they are naval supplies or not.

Be fair: the map is quite useful insofar as, before it was made, we had no way of viewing the predetermined trade goods at a glance. And we should respect the immense slogging effort that went into creating it.

Well, I certainly like being respected, but to be fair fair, it is true that it doesn't help for initially uncolonized provinces. And it wasn't that immense of a slogging effort; I scripted the map image generation using Python. You didn't really think I made those maps on the wiki by hand, did you ;) (Disclaimer: Meneth made the ones without "map" in their filename.)

I forgot to add that you have to conquer all the fur provinces as well...
Because there is an event that converts the goods for fur provinces to grain or naval supplies according to the owner's choice.

Wait, what?

This just got even more...interesting.

I'm thinking crack the union asap, take over Sweden&Denmark, get to work on conquering England, fight+contain Russia from colonising, and colonise north America.

So probably half into the game you are the most powerful nation in the north, absolutely dominates the seas, got America, Siberia is free. Now write target list and start to invade and conquer naval supplies around the globe. Keep eye open for more such provinces popping up in colonised territories. Should be doable with a good start in scandinavia.

Have played two games now with good enough starts to pull it of in theory but wait for new version and tradegood map to avoid massive headache looking for hard wood... (?)

Just do a wc as Norway, saves a lot of micro ;)

Absolutely horrible achievement without a trade goods map mode. Gave up trying to get it until there's at least a useful mapmode in the game that saves endless clicking provinces and either writing down the goods there or having a really good memory.

Both of these are very true an feed into each other.

1.3 will have a trade goods map, but you still need to almost WC to get this done, as I a sure taking singular provinces from many world powers will end up with the entire world trying to attack you. Heck, just being the enemy of Sweden, ends up with the entire world trying to destroy you.
