North American Patch 1.01?

Since it appears a number of folks will have the North American/Strategy First distributed game tomorrow, will the patch be available for download?

I have heard that it should be ready within the next 5-7 days....but don't qoute me on that...ask Paradox.

Someone emailed Strategy First, and got a reply stating that it should be out by sometime next week.

Its possible that the individual giving that response didn't actually know the details and was just being conservative. The patch certainly SHOULD be out within a couple days of the game's release given that Strategy First has had the patch for awhile now to add their copyright protection and test it.

Because the betas and Russian users found lots of bugs that need to be squashed.

Actually it has absolutely nothing to do with the Russian users. The 1.01 patch was finalized before the Russian players started posting comments on issues. Since there has been a considerable amount of time between when the game went into its gold state and its release by the publishers, Paradox and those of us who are beta testers used this time to squash bugs and tweak the AI and gamebalance issues.

Of course. Work is always being done. They're working on 1.02 as we speak (well, not LITERALLY as we speak, but that's what they do during the day ).

Buggy game.. most likely but the scope of this game bugs are understandable.As for patches straight away start cheering,,,,now
how many games do you buy that dont see a patch for 12 months is diabolical. If Paradox was to release HOI bug free wed all be still waiting this time next year

Yep bugs are just a fact of life these days. Plus I like most have got to the stage that I just want the game, knowing that it's not going to be perfect out of the box. But also knowing that it's in the hands of a great community that will find and discuss the faults and a great company that supports it's public.
