I promised I'd ask newbert questions so whats his name could slap that "read the wiki" smiley on em, and... just in case someone's patient enough to answer.
1. Tried playing Canada. Nicely contained, safeish borders, not spread all over the world and doesn't have everyone and their mother's brother's aunts and uncles wanting them all deaded up.
Can a country pop open extra research team slots? or is a nation stuck with what it has at start?
2. When a region shows no resources, does that mean it has no resources...ever? or does that mean that I need to plop down some factories to find what resources are there?
3. How many factories is proper for a region? Do I add up the number of resources showing and build that many factories to fully exploit? Or does one per region do all the job that can be done?
4. Nations in general, not Canada specfic, what the heck is the deal with the doctrines? Do I really really need them? Why are they so confusing? Is this proof of aliens from outspace interfering with human development?
General research and development question... is it a bad idea to blitz industrial for the first year with all your teams? or half your teams? Or more than one team?
Last question, after mastering this game, we do get a "certificate suitable for framing" that we can hang on the wall to show we're fully trained and certified to do world conquering, right?
