I had some characters with my dynasty that were not related to anyone generated and gave them some titles. After they died i inherited those even if there was no actual relation to me exept us having the same dynasties.

That makes me think if i can delete old characters from saves without having any major issues with inheritance to increase performance.

What do you think?

Were you their liege as well as related or not? If that is the case that might explain why you inherited.

Deleting would also cause problems when a title is inherited by someone who is related in some way, but has another dynasty (I believe there for example is a count in Ireland in 769 who inherits the land of the count next to him if the ruler of the other county dies due to them both descending from the same person (in the game) a few centuries before the start date, however between them and their ancestor there are several dynasty changes in the history files).
