True enough. Usually any organization of any significance views its members as disposable and replacable drones. It is so refreshing to see a company protecting workers from abusive customers.

Honestly I feel that post had no value, other than as the case study we are using it for, and we're better off without it. Clearly you disagree.
We agree it had no value. I just think finding and deleting those kinds of posts is more trouble than it's worth, and actively trying is always going to step on toes. Someone vented their sarcastic comment. Better to just ignore it, or you'll be trying to hunt down sarcasm.
Except that very blatantly was not sarcastic? To me, at least, that seemed to be very clearly an aggressive comment suggesting that the devs weren't doing their job right. As I read it, it seemed like an attack disparaging the devs' work, not a sarcastic quip.
Don't forget the implication that the developers deserved to be attacked and belittled until they "fixed" the "issue"!It was very specifically stating that the devs would rather release new DLC than fix known issues, with the obvious implications of greed and malicious intent.

I don't disagree. But I feel it still falls under sarcasm. Taking any action besides ignoring it is giving it more attention than it deserves, and is guaranteed to cut into valid criticism.
And while comments like that are a poor way of saying so, can you say you don't think sectors could use some work and the devs haven't just kind of left it hanging?
I really love how some people think that the act of being sarcastic is so horrible, so despicable that it indeed does not even deserve deletion. Either way though, I think it was either poor sarcasm or no sarcasm at all, because posting things like that here is digital suicide by cop. You have to either be... Underequiped to understand this (in that sarcasm is highly unlikely) or intend to get yourself banned. Could be trolling, but trolls usually dance on the edge of the blade, they do not perform, how do I name this... Suicide trollings?I don't disagree. But I feel it still falls under sarcasm. I hope that is sarcasm. If they didn't want to be attacked/belittled, they wouldn't have become developers.
Some people just feel that entitled to belittle people they think aren't "doing their job" (their "job" being to cater to the person's every whim).I really love how some people think that the act of being sarcastic is so horrible, so despicable that it indeed does not even deserve deletion. Yes, sectors are still sub-par, but they have been consistently improved in several different patches. Are they perfect? No, but the improvement speaks to the fact that work HAS been done.
It is a manufactured attitude. Its simple, capitalist is out there to make big bucks. So what is better than providing workers with enough resources to make a good product and selling it? Providing less resources than needed and padding their pockets with the difference. But product is not good enough, customers will get upset proportionally to the discrepancy between propaganda and the reality. Again, solution is simple, let the workers absorb the negativity and abuse and dress it as "customer care", "customer orientation" or whatever other corpspeek is popular in that fiscal quarter. Some people just feel that entitled to belittle people they think aren't "doing their job" (their "job" being to cater to the person's every whim).
Well, that's capitalism for you. Capitalism and communism have much in common, they are both idealistic ideas that would work if every single person on Earth was pure gold, but in reality lead to a horrible dystopia because both ideologies are created with disregard for human factor. Either a hivemind that is a mere extension of the supreme/glorious/sacred/untouchable/bodybuilding/undying/potato/eternal/elder overlord's body, or a society that is fueled by rampant unchecked greed and the desire to go to any extend to squeeze out any (however puny) additional profit. It is a manufactured attitude. Make the customers feel like big important people, abusing puny workers and pushing them around and they will not notice that you are leeching them of their money for a bad product.
"Customer is always right" is a disguising phrase that needs to die. it is a cynical piece of propaganda that hides complete disregard for both customers and workers.
So it's not, in your eyes, true. So ignore it. If the devs don't think it's true, they can ignore it, too.
Bad outcomes are had when you try to stamp out every comment you think is mean, or toxic, or belittles so and so. Worse still, you're just fighting fire with fire and belittling yourself by the response. You exchange "he said something mean" toxic for "can't offend the mods" toxic in the process.
If they didn't want to be attacked/belittled, they wouldn't have become developers.
Naaah, not really, but it's not exactly a place to go into ideology discussion (despite the fact that I believe that politics permeate every single aspect of life where more than one person can be found).Well, that's capitalism for you. There is a line between 'offend' and 'attack' which I believe was crossed here. If sectors is a problem, you need to attack sectors, not the devs, and do so in a reasonable manner.
If the post isn't worth replying to, its not worth being on the forum stinking up the place. That was such a weak, milquetoast "attack" that just about any move against it besides a casual disregard is a gross overreaction. That's exactly why I'm so certain it's going to shut down actual dialogue.
Well, neither of them seem to work, which for me is proof enough, but you have a point, that politics discussions are well... Not for here.Naaah, not really, but it's not exactly a place to go into ideology discussion (despite the fact that I believe that politics permeate every single aspect of life where more than one person can be found).

And this is where we fundamentally disagree- I have zero issue with pure negativity being cleaned up and this forum being a visibly positive and constructive space. There's no reason we should all have to suffer the bad attitude of people obsessed with whining and venting their frustrations on others. I think that is 100% worth the time it takes.Technically correct, but the cure is worse than the disease. You have to have people go out and make a judgement on what is and isn't worth keeping around, and that takes time and effort worth more than the piddly comments getting sniped, and is prone to overreaction and abuse.
