So... my heir(ess) has three sons. One (the eldest) is non-dynastic, because he is from a patrilineal marriage. She remarried and had two more sons matrilineally. Now under Gavelkind the main heir should inherit the Duchy, the other two should get at least a county each - right? Does that mean that I will continue the game as one of the secondary heirs? Or is it gameover unless I get the first-born killed somehow?

From what I read the other day a non-dynastic heir is game-over even if you have other landed family members. That said, it wasn't clear on that exact situation. Still might be worth finding a reason to throw them in the oubliette/execute them.
