Non-1444 bookmarks - any good games in those ?

Hi - wanted to ask for some opinions - I've played a few fun 1444 games now to the end, and I'm not that interested in WC / blobbing - so wanted to ask if any of the later bookmarks have hidden gems in there ?

I did try out the 1792 bookmark, and a great time fighting everyone as France / bleeding France dry via attrition as Austria - disappointing to see that the mission tree was the standard 1444 tree, but the gameplay situation was fun enough.

Nope, Later start dates are neither supported nor updated for years now. Just forget they exist

Specific situations could be interesting as short campaigns. There's an achievement for winning the War of American Independence as USA in that bookmark. But it's true as LukasYork said, those start dates aren't maintained and frequently have issues with mechanics introduced during the last couple years. That being said, fighting something like a historical 30 years' war is definitely doable to dive straight into action.

I will say : no. Just use 1444.

7 years war as Prussia. Its agony to play such an "badly played" nation. But the war is challenging. Goal of the campaing--> win the war buy taking 100% warscore.

When I tried it england just did nothing.
Nothing at all.
And once enought time passed they simply accepted independence.

Immediately suing for peace and getting independence by giving up a few provinces so that I could attack the CNs before realizing “I can just revoke cores” was fun.

In generally they are not good becuase they haven’t been updated for all the new stuff over the years

Long time favorite of mine: Palatinate in 1619.

You got Bohemia in a PU, but you have to fight off Austria and Spain to keep it. Not sure how the AI handles the situation in the current patch , could be quite a bit of a challenge.

Yes if you can ignore the bugs there are some fun set-piece challenges among those later starts. Netherlands in the 80 years war, Venice in the League of Cambrai, obviously Prussia in the 7 years war.

Getting the USA independence achievement is pretty fun.

I found this very easy, although that was a few years ago. What I reckon could be fun is starting as the US in 1776 and trying to form a continuous land route to the Pacific before the clock runs out.

The events and trying to stick to the historical timeline for historical roleplaying.

Thanks guys, the consensus seems to be 'give the US game a try' and ignore the rest, so I'll have a look at that !
