This is a follow up to my thread here: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...erpowered-subjugation-100-vassal-tax.1106869/
Nomads are overpowered. Since conquering Byzantium my game has been a complete cakewalk. I only had one scare and a single setback. The scare being when I only had male children within my dynasty and thus risked losing the leadership of the horde to one of the other clans (however I would have surely gained it back almost immediately, being the one with 300k+ gold to blow on retinues and mercs). The setback I had was when China became expansionary and open, and decided it was time for me to become a tributary. Their army came out of the northern point and quickly assault-sieged all of my holdings before I could respond. I surrendered, however at that point in the game it didn't really have an impact on my autonomy and I simply consumed the other tributaries and independent states left in the steppe or in India. During the same lifetime I broke free and subsequently conquered China, placing my daughter on the throne.
Contrary to what the wiki said I received a solid 140k+ Chinese units on expansionary and open (not golden age). The campaign was tense but ultimately anticlimactic as the amount of pillaging I had done set my tech level way ahead of time, I had no shortage of 20+ martial commanders, had plenty of morale/attack/defense bonuses from capitol upgrades, and the special units afforded to nomads are simply outright more powerful than the Chinese forces. I was winning 3:2 battles and battles with severe terrain disadvantages. My primary hinderance was the ability to concentrate enough units into the counties without suffering too much attrition.
I attached a screenshot of my current game state (sorry for posting more than once). I played this on ironman mode with achievements on. There are three independent states remaining: Khazaria (me), Venice, and Almafi (tributaries of mine). I'm probably done with this current game besides perhaps burning down Constantinople in order to rush it's conversion to Buddhism so as to get the "What Schism?" achievement, and maybe attempting to fight the Aztecs and Mongols at the same time.
I once again reiterate that it is completely broken to allow nomads to have the subjugate casus belli and for achievements to be enabled when nomad succession is set to stable. The majority of my gametime was spent divvying out counties to the other clans (please add search bar to grant title menu!).
