Yep, you read that right, Austria got bombed by Nogay.
Let me explain, it is the year 1680, I am Archduke von Wittensbach, I rule over the Austrian lands from the Black Sea to the French border who is my staunchest ally and has been since the beginning of the game. They play with colonies, I play with Germans and all those that don't realise they are German yet. To my east I have the Russian blob, allied with what remains of Poland and Lithuania and red blob Denmark, to my north, who are allied to another green blob, the Ottomans. To my south. Take any two of the three and between them they field around 400K troops and have near 650K manpower. My Austrian soldiers count 120K and I am struggling to keep more than 100K manpower, my vassals bring another 30K to the table and France has similar numbers to us. So, I decided to spend twenty years to build relations with Great Britain and Spain, both have massive empires overseas and can field similar numbers to us. As soon as I managed to ally both we catch a spy. From Nogay. He has been damaging my reputation - a bomb.
Two years later. We catch a spy from Nogay, and it worked, I lost Great Britain who set me to be their rival, a year later Spain does the same. In the meantime France is on the brink of doing this as well.
I can't get to Nogay, it is now a ONE PROVINCE MINOR horde province on the Caspian Sea, firmly wedged between Russia and the Ottomans/Crimea - they won't give me access... there is no way I can take them out. They have set only ME as rival, even though they have no allies, I have never sent an army to even within 1000KMs of where they are and yet they are managing to destroy my mighty empire.
Can I just say: AAARRARARGHHGHG!!!!
I am declaring on the Ottomans, just so I can get to Nogay and vassalise them.
PS: Since when do Russia and the Ottomans tech up faster than I can as Austria, despite having 3 +2 advisors I can't keep up with them...
