The point of the loss of personal unions to non-european people, was that vassalization would become easier for the RotW. This change was not made however, and you still can't vassalize outside of your religious group. So now royal marriages are worthless to the RotW because they are now just +25 to relations and legitimacy over time. Make vassalization outside religious group possible (maybe require you have a royal marriage with them if they are outside your religion group.)

?????

Vassalization between religions has been possible from the release of EU4, you couldn't annex different religion vassals until I think Res Publica when RMs ceased to be necessary for annexation. As far as I know you're just plain wrong.

RMs are still valuable for nations and if anything are more flexible now because you can have them with nations with different religious groups, so Granada can get a RM with Aragon and maybe get an alliance with them now whereas before no RM was possible.

EDIT: clarified and fixed misspellings

How can Granada get RM with Aragon? Christians aren't allowed to enter RM with different religions.

Everything about this statement is "plain wrong".

Prior to v1.7, diplovassal becoming a clickable button required a Royal Marriage, which couldn't happen outside religious group, so you couldn't diplovassal nations with different religions. If you had force-vassaled a nation of a different religion, you could always diploannex them.

In v1.7, the Royal Marriage requirement disappeared, but any NPC of a different religious group had a -1,000 (or multiple of them) malus for being a different religion.

Edited to remove recollection with links:

http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...W-Royal-Marriages-between-different-religions!

You can diplovassalise other religions already in 1.7, this will make it easier for non-Christians to do so.

It would appear that the malus should have disappeared for sure in v1.8 and likely shouldn't have been in v1.7 if Wiz's statement was an indication of what had been intended.

In v1.7, the Royal Marriage requirement disappeared, but any NPC of a different religious group had a -1,000 (or multiple of them) malus for being a different religion.

In the discussion of why inter-religion RM would be allowed for non-Christians, Wiz stated that it would make it easier for diplovassal, so it was presumed that this malus would disappear in v1.8 (As a side-note, Wiz said inter-religion diplovassal was always possible, and never responded to my question on the topic).

If I can find the actual citation, I'll update this post.

Thanks for defending me bud. I was quite upset when all I saw at the start of the thread was people upset with me...
