No valid casus belli?

Duchess of toscany has a strong claim on Gran City of Pisa, but when i try to declare war seem I "don't have a valid casus belli to declare war".
Both of them are direcly under the german imperator, and it is allowed to declare war on him for that claim.

I use 1.07b (tziv)

Am I missing something? :blink:

Firstly your game is not correctly installed checksum is wrong. If you use Steam try verifying game cache. You can find it by pressing right mouse button over Crusader Kings II in library page chosing properties -> local files -> verify integrity of game cache. It will check the files it should take time so if it claims to be finished in a second just do it again. Then check the checksum again.

Is it possible that since the Duchess is a Lord and the Grand City is ruled by a Mayor - that the claim cannot be pressed for similar reasons?

From the patch notes:

- No longer allowed to press other women's claims on _any_ titles against a ruler with Agnatic succession

Also a city has open elective, and is not agnatic, so you should be able to press the claim.

A count and above, must always have one male within thier court. A mayors hier is chosen from thier court first, if they have one.

Cities use open elective they don't really have gender rules but I think its hardcoded that the heir can't be a woman.
