Hey. I have returned but I'm sure noone even noticed me not being here. Anyway. I have a question. I am playing as Scotland and have decided to declare an early war on England while they are trying to prevent Eire from forming. I marched into their land and i didnt take any cities but killed about 19000 troops and lost maybe 4000. Two questions: what does it take to get one of those stars on the peace offering menu and when i asked them for a no tribute peace they rejected. Ive tried this with two stars for me before and they did not accept. Is this an AI error or do i need to fight more?
Thanks

You get stars for capturing provinces (two I think) and winning battles (a fraction of a star).

I can be difficult to make peace because computer controled countries get a "bonus" star during peace negociations. For example, if you capture a province and offer peace, you will have two stars, but the computer thinks you only have one. As a result, it will not accept peace with you if claim that province as tribute. Also, it means that you need at least one star to have a good chance of the computer accepting a no tribute peace.
