is there a patch for this?
i ask because, looking at the tech files and sprites etc. it would seem that it is possible to incorporate more technologies and applications into the game, and i was thinking about having a go at transposing some HoI units and their relevant techs (with appropriate modifications, natch) to Victoria.
of course some 30's, 40's and 50's monetary, industrial and cultural techs would have to be transposed/made up as well. i'm thinking along the lines of "building societies", "movies", "radio", "broadcasting companies", "multinational corporations" and "commercial aircraft".
(would aircraft work in Victoria?)
in addition (if it's all possible, that is), one would need to scale down movement speeds for earlier sea units - to reflect the glacial speed warfare was fought at in the earlier period - with realistic increases in speed for motorised units (whether via railroad or steam/internal combustion engine) later on.
in fact, nationalism and the impetus toward decolonisation could be modelled as well, by making the colonies ungovernable through events.
