Can't you just change the end date? In HOI, I seem to remember seeing an end date at the beginning of the file.

There will be no events, but...

why did they hard code it? everything else is so mod-friendly, just the ending date is out of reach for us. did they consciously want to prevent us from expanding the time range maybe? why would that be?

Perhaps because that time period is what the game is officially created for.

I played around a bit with files and created a scenario that starts in 1816. The Game did show 1836 i the game selection screen, but the game year was shown 1816 when I started it. I got my hopes up, but the date did change to 1835 when I did unpause the game. :wacko:

I don't see the logic in hardcoding the game dates. Of course the "official game" is set between the given dates, but when we change it (if we could have), we would have done it at our own risk. (or pleasure)
