Shouldn't you have annexed Persia, or just demand Abadan? I don't understand, what you need those extra non-IC provinces for...

But anyway interesting opening moves, so Greece is next. :)

if i would have annexed Persia i would have a border with the British at India and also a longer border with the USSR. It was only about the oil of Abadan and they included that Province when they sued for peace. So i accepted.

After the Turkish-Iranian war Inönu and Bayar took full control of the country, making them untouchable in the last elections of the country that where merely a scam to demoralize the opposition. After those “elections” a 1 party system was installed. Though not thusly called by the 2 politicians themselves their way of political management where blandly called “fascist” by many countries, including Germany and Italy. It was unique though as there where 2 so called “Dictators” holding equal powers.

Around March 1940 China surrendered to the Japanese, Japan installed a puppet state and took control of all of China's resources, China had become part of the axis of evil. United Kingdom must be scared right now. Germany started their expansion into the West in March first by attacking Denmark and Norway, Denmark surrendered almost immediately while Norway was slowely swallowed by Germany.

Then 2 months later on May 2nd 1940 Germany invaded the lowlands, coming into France from the North.

The battle of France was registered very well by Turkish journalists, the Ottomans looked closely at their tactics, especially their brilliant supply system. Progress was slower then imagined, took till June to take all of Belgium, they where fighting hard. As soon as Belgium capitulated and Germany was ready to enter France Italy decided to join Germany and declared war on the allies. Italy however was not able to enter France, nor did it make any strong position against the British in Africa, even though the Italian army greatly outnumbered them. At the end of June when Paris fell Hungary joined the axis as well, seeing the Allies loose everything they had. The battle of France went on for another month though before France finally collapsed. Vichy France was erected to save France from being totally occupied, its leader Phillip Petain was a stubborn man, not willing to fully cooperate with the Axis, though that might change. French colonies in the middle-east where released as Syria and Lebanon. Though they where under Turkish occupation plans nothing of value was stored in these lands, so they where left alone for now. French Indochina was given to Japan.

a bit longer then the last ones. Well, next one is gonna be about Turkey again. promise

nah, i don't really care much for those lands.

Now that France was out of the way Germany focused its airforce totally on the UK, rerouted their army towards Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union and send its submarines out for convoy raiding. Italy got hold of its army in Africa back a little bit and where finally gaining ground. With a bold move they landed troops in Israel, trying to take the Suez Canal and lock off the Mediterranean for the allies. The Axis seemed to become stronger and stronger, their hold on Europe seemed almost perfect, all that remained was the United Kingdom on their little island, all Hitler had to do was keep their airforce in check and whipe out their fleet. Italy had it tougher with Africa though, the UK held all of the passages. Turkey saw their position between the Axis and Allies very secure though.

Germany seemed to start moving against the Soviet Union again, Turkey has to put border patrol and maybe even invasion forces near the border of Russia, militia for now.

On January 1941 they should be deployed. However, even though they do have the manpower to build up their army quite a lot, Turkey doesn't really have the neccesary resources and technology to take on the Soviets. In the winter of 1940 a new computer was developed that should help in encrypting and decrypting military orders, but that won't nearly be enough to match the Soviets. Turkey needs some blueprints. But no country in their right mind would share blueprints with a country that could become a possible enemy. While this messed around with the Turkish government even more troops where stationed near the border of the Soviet Union, not the experienced troops that conquered Iraq and Persia though, they where ordered to station at the border of Greece. Seeing as the army would arrive at the borders of Greece on March 28th and Germany declared war on Yugoslavia on March 2nd the Turkish Government saw fit to join Germany in the Axis on march 3rd 1941 with encouragement from Romania. The day after Bulgaria joined the Axis too. The British where outraged at Turkey's declaration of war. After this the Turkish government saw a few heads rolling, while the population smiled on this new alliance.

1941march3TurkeyentersPalestina.jpg

The Italians where well underway of dominating Palestina and Jordanian territory so Turkish troops where able to march freely into the lands and join the Italian army, the goal of course was to take control of the Suez Canal and then march into Egypt. A turkish division also entered Kuweit City and another large amount of oil was seized by the Turkish. The Persian gulf will soon be in Turkey's full control.

While Yugoslavia was being butchered by the mega fast and advanced Wehrmacht Finland decided to join the Axis, bringing in another dictatorial country into a devilish alliance. Turkey's deal with Germany and Italy was great, they would give their oil and understanding of marines to them while Germany and Italy would give blueprints of better machine tools, encryption devices, tanks and artillery. They didn't allow Italy or Germany to influence them towards more extreme ideologies, the Turkish people wheren't Nazi's. Fascism was a better term, working under some more democratic policies then the Italians as well as an actual constitution, an edited version. Most political positions held by Turkish Ministers didn't exceed their power either. This protected the Turkish people from the Nazi's extremist views.

The Turkish became more close to Italy then Germany, since Italy had a navy in the Mediterranean and the Turkish army worked alongside the Italian army. Turkey announced it would keep watch over the Italian islands near Greece for them, while the Italian army was busy in Africa.
At the start of April the marine corps was loaded up into their transports and the entire turkish fleet(still almost in Great war status) sailed out the retake the Italian Dodecanes from the British. The islands where unprotected and the Turkish marines occupied it, but it was still owned by Italy. Italy agreed of having Turkish troops surrounding Greece, so their own army won't have to.

When May began and Spring finally started to arrive the German-Yugoslavian war was over. With only 200 casualties on the Germans side, nearly 5000 on the Italians side and about 2000 killed for the Yugoslavians it was considderd a very neat war, as Yugoslavia was very big as was Yugoslavia's army. The moment the peace was signed and Yugoslavia was split up between Axis country's Italy declared war on Greece. Now the Ottoman Empire could show its worth to the Axis.

next the battle of Greece

Actually, Finland is never a dictatorship in game terms nor was it irl. ;)
We were the only real democracy somehow allied to Germany.

Maybe one should conquer Syria?

Update:

-----------------------------

The start of the invasion of Greece began with the Turkish army (under the administration of the Fascist minister of the army Alparslan Türkes and under leadership of Generals Calistar and Karabekir) entering the mainland of Greece from Istanbul and start landing on the islands of the Cyclades from the Dodecanes and North Aegean islands from the Turkish mainland. The turkish airforce started bombing the Cyclades to help the smallest invasion forces, the marines. Advances into the mainland where quickest, Kavala fell soon and a Greek army corp had to retreat. The advance onto the islands however went less well. The Cyclades where an easy pick, the Marines where well enough equipped to make the voyage onto the islands with boats, firstly the large islands of Naxos and Santorini, setting up base there, wait for the airforce to weaken the enemy's positions and move on to the next one. But the invasion forces going for the North Aegean islands had more trouble making a foothold. The cavalry had the biggest problems of getting in and out of the boats quick enough, though on land they dominated the scene, while the Infantry had trouble on the rugged, hillish lands of the islands, but where very fast of boarding and landing their crafts. A lot of nightly raids on the islands where made by the infantry before a big invasion would start. Since they had no air support they had to destroy enemy's supplies and fortifications by hand and that took longer then expected. The close and fairly large island of Lesbos was taken first, the Cavalry units, once on land felt very secure in the surrounding(mainly because they had been training on the Turkish islands in the island group, nearly the same landscape) and Greek resistance was quickly defeated. The much further island of Lemnos was harder to invade, but it was more important so they didn't delay in attacking it in several ways. The Turkish navy, at its front the Battlecruiser TDT Yavuz(former german cruiser) started patrolling the Aegean sea and destroyed any Greek ship located, even fisherman's ships. They also started bombing the islands and the port of Salonika. This helped the land forces, but still they wheren't able to permanently beat the Greek forces on the islands. During May Lemnos was taken when finally the last of the Coastal guns where taken out. Its invasion counted 500 Turkish troops dead on its beaches. The rest of the North Aegean islands where finally taken over at the end of May, with the loss of 1000 men, but capturing around 6000 Greeks and sinking nearly 30 Greek ships, including a submarine. The South Aegean sea counted 27 Turkish killed and about 650 casualties for the Greek. In the mainland the Turkish army reached all the way to Salonika, causing the Greek forces defeating Bulgaria too surrender and when Greece was annexed on June 1st 1941 by Italy the Turks where allowed to keep Salonika for its industry, they lost only 170 men while capturing around 2500. They where also given control of the North Aegean Islands, while Italy took the rest. Italy lost about 2750 men and almost 10 times that many wounded, Bulgaria lost around 2500.

I sohuld have had a more succesfull invasion.

Anyway, Update:

-----------------------------
Meanwhile in the Middle-East the Italian army was well underway towards the Suez Canal from Palestine while the Turkish army fell behind and didn't see much action untill the actual Canal was reached. There the British fought ferociously to keep the Italians out of Egypt and they did succeed in stopping the advance. The passage was abandoned by the British and passage through stopped, the Axis was now in control as their planes could reach it easily and both attack enemy ships and protect their own ships from enemy planes.

Times to expand even further had come, The Turkish fleet set sail and started patrolling the South Aegean sea and went close to Cyprus, letting the United kingdom know it was being targeted. The Marine corps however was moved over land towards the south of Iraq, also 2 new transport ships where being constructed at the location sheduled to be launched in September. The largest part of the Turkish army was rerouted and stationed at the border with the Soviet Union. It seemed more and more likely that war with the Soviet Union won't end in disaster.

The Turkish fleet made a mistake in June 1941, they spotted an enemy submarine and followed it from Cyprus more towards the south, near the suez canal. However, they forgot the UK still held Egypt and from the port of Alexandria a large British fleet came out and engaged the Turkish fleet. The Aircraft carrier HMS Glorious escorted by 6 battlehips and a whole lot of cruiser steamed with full speed towards the small Turkish forces. By the time the Turkish ships had time to respond it was already too late for the battlecruiser TDT Yavuz and it was lost with all hands. The Turkish fleet made a run for it, 1 transport ship didn't make it into the Darnadelles strait where they where safe. Immediately a new battlecruiser, a more advanced one was ordered to be build.

When in October the army had moved to positions and new transport ships had been build the Turkish marine corps was loaded up and they headed for Dubai.
1941october8landingatdubai.jpg

First landings where without combat, they easily took the harbor towns and secured the oil platforms in sea and then headed East towards Oman and attacked the british locations. The attacks where unsuccesfull though.

I tried invading Dubai once.I couldn't invade Oman and British sent there more troops. They outnumbered me like 3:1 but they didn't attack.

If you want to take Oman, you should move your infantry to Dubai and land south of Mascate with your marines. And you should do this fast.

I am following this

well, for everybody following:

Update!

-------------------------------------

In the mean time a British division saw fit to land in Doha as well and defeat the marines, the marines had to break their attacks on Oman and protect themselves. The Marines where more than capable of handling this small obstacle. Even without their supplies that had been taken. Fighting them took all the way untill January, when they retook Doha, left some soldiers there defending and went back to attacking Oman again. It was clear however that there just wheren't enough troops to defeat the British there so Turkey tried to convince the government in Oman to join the Axis, they refused. So, in the next few months more militia from mostly iraq entered the Peninsula and reinforced their position, once they where in place in May the marine corps could attack them with full force.

1942MayattackingOman.jpg

They attacked Oman and when British defenses failed and British troops where retreating back more South-West the government of Oman surrendered and disconnected themselves from British protection. The Turkish troops entered and Turkey annexed Oman at the start of June. New industry was very much welcomed, as well as more manpower(mercenaries and extremists). During June the Turkish army was again expanded and reinforced.

1942July1barbarossa.jpg

On July 1st 1942 it happened, Germany declared war on the Soviet Union and Operation Barbarossa was revealed to the Turkish. In that plan the Turkish army wasn't mentioned, they where however required to sign the DoW along with all the axis. This upset the Turkish war ministers and so the Turkish army entered the Soviet Union all over the Causasus mountains, taking the important oil from Baku and crossing the borders near the large industrial areas of Tblisi and Yerevan. They attacked the Red army near the black sea and defeated their border patrols. Things had to work quickly, before Soviet army groups arrived. Turkey send pleas of help towards Italy and Germany for tanks and planes, hoping they have showed their worth.

1942July12advancessofar.jpg

After 11 days of marching Baku city and the offshore oil drillings where taken, the industry was being reconfigured for Turkish use and the militia where supressing the people to stop them from revolting(many fled). At the Black Sea coast the large port of Batum was taken as well, a small Russian fleet was spotted leaving just before the Turkish troops arrived. Soviet soldiers where close though, the Turkish cavalry had to take them out well before advancing too much.
--------------------

Finally the story is starting :D

Sorry for not having a screen of the original DoW by Germany but i left the game running and went to eat my dinner. Forgot too pause so i had to revert back to the autosave(thank heavens for the autosave). which meant the event already happened.
