Is there a limit to how many times a character can get a skill increase for fulfilling council ambitions?
My son and heir had an ambition to be chancellor even though I had a much better one already. But since I was in my late 50s with maybe not much time left I gave it to him and gained one point in diplomacy to set him up for when he takes over. Well I kept on living and after about a year I hired the old guy back who had much higher diplomacy skill. A little later I notice my heir has spymaster ambition and intrigue of 15. My current spymaster had 16 so I give the job to my heir but he doesn't gain any intrigue. So I reloaded a previous save to see if there was a time limit or something, waited a year and tried again but he still did not gain any intrigue for being made spymaster even though he had that ambition. So I've been trying it every year after the new year autosave for like 5 years now and every time he doesn't get any intrigue gain so I just reload the last save. Is this a glitch, by design or does more time have to pass? Thanks....
