Administrative efficience and conquering Ming's high autonomy don't go well in one sentence. Ming gunning for westernisation these days.

To be fair, if he takes Diplomatic Ideas (I don't know why you'd do this on Russia, but for the sake of discussion) and has max administrative efficiency, he has 95% reduced warscore cost. That's basically full annexation on 0% autonomy.

But they dont provide much. No manpower, fewer forcelimits, and less money.

At risk of your colonies breaking away.

If the rest of the game has to team up to attempt to defeat you, your doing something right. On top of this Russia is fairly out of the way which prevents them from getting gang-banged on multiple fronts like an Austrian or Polish player would be.

Aaaaaaaaaand... that´s not the point.

Human versus AI France colonizes for lulz, because he can break France by 1500 even if he white peaces HYW,

Human versus human France colonizes because he will be ejected from the continent and will be desperate for expansion oportunities.

BIG difference. And that´s just the most obvious example. Anyway back to topic which is Russia.

No starting major power is more then twice as powerful as the next starting power. I mean not even France. Later in the game i suppose it's appropriate word use. When the player has meddled.

Perhaps, but one of the major (if not THE major) malus of DoF is the tech cost malus, and the NI mitigates that a lot, making DoF much less of a no-brainer than for, say, Commonwealth.

Colonies don´t need truce timer to go away to grow, don´t use manpower and don´t use monarch points apart from idea group (read: Exploration).

Besides, tariffs eventually can be a huge source of income.

Finally, the game has multiplayer as its basis, and while the AI might be too stupid to counter a menancing player, humans aren´t. Making expansion not by a war a MUCH more viable path.

Commonwealth is not the best of examples. Poland has university from day one.

Run a game without interfering. In many games within 100-150 years some countries have 2x the income and 2x the number of troops the second place country has.

Does Ming retain province autonomy once it's westernised?
No, it becomes an instant "superpower" :)

Umh, AI France regularily trashes Burgundy, England and Austria at the same time. From Day 1 even. Granted that's due to AI inability to focus attacks. But who cares about that if the outcome is the same?
