If Japan would have continued fighting, USA probably would have dropped couple of big bombs more. + public had already gotten used to terror bombing campaigns that were carried against the enemy in order to reduce his capacity to fight onward. It was all out war and besides, 2-4 year propaganda campaigns had desirable effect on public when it came to sympathy for the other side - there practically was none.

If you nuke a province you should get negative opinion of the owner or core owner. This should prevent allied fire. Only if they extend timeline and have UN DLC and there could be mechanisms to prevent use of nuclear or other weapons(chemical...).

just a thought, but lets say japan had not surrendered after the second bomb, and the US had 5 more bombs. do you really think they would not have dropped them? of course we would have!

or take that further lets say they the bombs were ready before Germany surrender maybe the soviets were still east of Poland. how many German cities would they have used them on? the answer is as many as it took to force a surrender.

edit: you suggest a national unity hit. if anything it should be a national unity gain 1) for winning the war, 2) for proving the huge government expenditure on a theory worked ( cost of the Manhattan project)

the remorse and guilt would come latter

If you're nuking occupied cities there should probably be severe penalties, both in international relations and national unity, with the latter depending on your government type and relations with the original province owner. There's no way the allies wouldn't have suffered internal dissent and international condemnation if they nuked e.g. Paris or Shanghai just because of an occupying force.

yea.. otherwise lets say paratroopers land in an allies cpaitol despite standing no chance against the surrounding forces, then one of their allies just nukes the capitol

So I finished watching the first WWW series(Daniel against Johan mostly) and noticed that Johan just started nuking everywhere with no regard. In real life, nuking was a massive moral dilemma. The US would not have gotten away with simply firing nukes at any city they could including occupied territories that Japan didn't truly own. Now I know that this was an early build, but this is kind of disturbing for me. I would think nukes would be this rarely used desperate times measure, not who can nuke the world first.

idk about that at the time the us was at war against a country who attacked us most american's were ok with it at least way my grandpa told me
