Hi Dukes!

Don't post it in the bug forum, 'cause maybe it's a feature :glare: a game-breaking feature in my oppinion:

I'm King of England, Wales and Ireland and on a crusade. At home there is a major revolt  Fine. So I come home and fight. A second revolt breakes out. I fight harder. Warscore of revolt Nr. 1: Slowly rising. Then - it hits the 100% One problem less. One problem less? NO! Some guy on the other end of the world (in other words: Sinai) has a province of the revolt-leader under control - I cannot make peace. Not even a white peace. I can not even surrender! The send peace button is grey ("no province of Duke XY is under control of Duke Z: X") :excl: I crush the second revolt, the Warscore of revolt Nr. 1 is 100% since two years - no peace possible! Now I know, how there could ever be a 100-years war between England and France :glare:

In the end I loose, for the KI can recruit troops faster then me and I had heavy casualities in my haste to crush revolt Nr. 2. I normally don't reload, but here I will and send troops to Sinai to take back this stupid province for the revolting Duke.
However: Is that wanted? And if so: Why? Why could that nonsense be wanted?

(and YES! I'm quite frustrated at the moment )

Maybe a moderator could transfer the thread to the bug-forum? It IS a bug imho. Please look at that:

Warscore 100%, no peace possible. Please note, that I cannot even defend my traiterous vasall against the Sinai-occupation: I am not at war with her. And to declare war - I'd have to disarm my army :D Sorry, that's ridiculous. What shall I do?

The proof, that this stupid province prevents a peace:

What does it say when you try to enforce demands?

Edit: Yes this is incredibly frustrating! You will have to unraise your levy to declare war on the person holding that province (unless you're already hostile, if you're hostile, you just have to march over there).

2nd Edit: Judging from your pictures, it appears you are already hostile to Duchess Constance. You should be able to just go over and sit on the territory she holds to capture it.

Ah, thank you. I'll do that. Still it's very strange and more than dubious. What, if I am too weak to retake it? Than the war goes on for 10 or 20 years. That's fun, everyone... And why should a surrender depend on a province in enemy hands? Escpecially in farfarawayland?

Thanks for your help :)

Wait, so the duchess of Sinai was fighting with you against the first revolt and used her own troops for it and then she did her own revolt ?
OR
did they fight each other before the first or second revolt broke out , then she occupied his holdings and later did revolt against you ?

Nasty case.

I gave her independence a while ago, so there is no revolt on her side. Home was unsecure, didn't want to get involved in the middle east. I am NOT at war with her, and she at some time attacked the traitor. Now I'd have to cross the seven seas to save the province of the traitor. That's ok, but why should that prevent his surrender to me?
However, I just solved the problem with good, old assassination.
Still it's been a stupid situation and should not happen. 100% Warscore should be surrender, no matter what. :)

Alright, well i was also mixing pics and confused myself.

Wonder as well. Used to be the case that the war becomes invalid.

..unless it was an offensive war by the Duke of Bedford against the Duchess of Sinai.
That might have been the problem ? I believe that's what's causing it.

Still, that shouldn't stop you to peace out.

Even though she's not at war with you directly, because the vassal is revolting you should be hostile to anyone who attacks any of your revolting vassals... so you don't have to declare war on her, just move your army over to egypt, or wait for that war to finish.

If she's not hostile to you, then it's a bug. Otherwise it's working as intended.

I am having this very issue, only, I also noted THAT MY VASSALS SEEM TO LOVE THIS NEVER ENDING WAR! After I reconquered Granada, my vassals didn't seem to mind their levies being raised for literally YEARS afterward when I was forced to take on the revolt there as well. In fact, the opinion penalty for having raised levies too long went down to zero. Is this a bug? Am I going to have to assassinate the leader of the revolt? His court and vassals seem to love him, believe me, I've been working that route! He is an awesome lowborn dude.

My next step is to do what is noted above, but...geez, wish me luck trying to find what tiny barony some dude in Alexandria has NOT occupied. Doesn't seem right to me.

Ah well. Any non-condescending reply is always appreciated, and thanks, sincerely.

Edit: Well...the running off to occupy that Bishopric seems to have fixed the problem! In future, I will be less eager to prey on Kingdoms in revolt, ha. Thanks to you guys from five years ago for figuring this out. At any rate, my half brother can suck it, I'm right back to ruling Hispania, mostly!

THREE CHEERS FOR KING RONALDO THE CONFUSED!

Further edit: This still doesn't explain why my vassals were so happy this war was going on FOREVER, but everyone digs King Ronaldo with the gnarly hairlip I guess.

...isn't the "raised levies" opinion malus only for offensive, rather than defensive, wars?
