hello all,
i asked this question recently for HOI so i am hoping it is the same in Doomsday
is there a way to disable nuclear bombs? i love realism but when nukes start flying in a game i lose interest.
for HOI i was told to go to db/nuclear.txt and then change some lines, would this work in Doomsday?
thanks

You can prolly kill the nuclear techs outright with the editor, or (if its possible) you can just make two of the techs require each other, i.e. make the Waste Bomb tech require the Fission Bomb tech, which to research requires that you already have Waste Bomb.

You could also go to db\events\secret_weapon_events.txt and scroll to the one with ID #8011, and add '#'s in front of each line of it to disable the event which enables the nukes, or just wreck its triggers (change "technology = 5540" to the number of one of the techs it enables).

Sadly I have no answer to your question, but I´m just curious: Why do you lose interest?

i like to see nations slug it out with inf, tanks, planes all that stuff, i think nukes make it too easy? and take away a lot of fun, i play my games really slow, it takes me years to conquer china when i play as japan and by the time i am jus starting to get my empire going "bam!" USA starts nuking and pretty soon my capital is decimated...i just think it takes fun out of the game

To make things fair for the AI, you should make pretty early nuke-techs obsolete, so that the AI won't reduce them in vain, maybe the isotopes-tech and the one past it?

ah true, i hadnt thought of that, but i will try to do it too lol. that would make it closer to fair since i wont spend any of my tech on nukes
