Forget the maps, what about scenarios? When was the last time CO added new scenarios with their latest DLC? :mad:
Scenarios are an unpopular feature which can be seem from Steam achievement data, for example. I assume a big reason for this is you have to "game the game" too much to make them interesting and challenging, apart from them all revolving around traffic. Paradox and CO maybe thought it's best to use resources for more impactful things.

Some of the scenarios were complete horse too.

For me the word horse has only positive connotation :D

Indeed data shows that scenarios are wildly unpopular I'm afraid, therefore the time and effort to work on them is better used elsewhere. I guess majority prefers the sandbox nature of a city builder in the end.

Not that the scenarios were bad, just that some of the triggers were really unfair.
I got it ;)

It's a shame with the scenarios really, they weren't originally planned for this game and we never got them to the point that they would be significant part of it. Call it lack of resources on our side or the lack of interest from the players, there were multiple factors where we could have done better for sure. But then again focusing on the sandbox made more sense in the long run.

Yeah I get it, I can see the appeal in scenarios, like old school Sim City had.

But I agree with the poster who said it was basically just centring around one aspect. I'd say two myself, population growth and traffic. I feel a more varied approach to scenarios would have been more beneficial, but a lot of my ideas would probably involve mass overhauls of the code or something. :p

It is a shame about the scenarios. It would be nice if it wasn't so, but I agree that the time and resources are better spent elsewhere. (I do like sandbox building, and am an amateur painter, so I am slightly biased.)
