No naval battles?

They are doing a lot with Trade for EU4 I understand...

We do have to recognise that there is a lot of abstraction in this game. Note being able to get from Ireland to Britain with out boats, same for crossing the Bosphorus or Dardanelles. So attacking Constantinople from the east implies a abstracted naval event of some sort.

Still while there are few recorded and/or significant naval battles, the peoples of the CK2 game world had been banging boats together, boarding and killing each other on the open water other since Classical times...

Whats without a doubt true is this. If Venice ever becomes playable they need to implement some sort of naval combat or a mechanic that will allow a fleet to block a straight

duh. did you miss the part where i said that ididnt want a ahistoric amoutn of them. if itsincluded ina trade overhaul ill welcome it, but with the current mechanics its just too easy to have a strong fleet and would only result in more annoyances.
