Ah, so in other words, it's chupacabra's opinion, not the scholarly one, eh?

You should've said that earlier.

Constantine, you just answered your own question: Aztec and West African civilizations were tribal societies, that is pre-feudal.

you never mentioned pre-feudal, or at least i didnt read that in your post that i quoted from. However, catogarising societies in such narrow bands is dangerous. How for example could you cat a society in 19thcentury africa that has elements of Islamic political structure, elements of French nationalism and a great chunk of tribal organisation. Thinking Samori.

This sort of soc would be labeled pre-feudal in your reckoning, but clearly does not compare with say the Dacians of 2nd century AD.

I believe we're a tad off topic here...this threat was supposed to be about something else.;)

No, we're on topic, because while the caliphate was not a feudal state, neither was byzantium, and it shouldnt' be that great a leap to include them.

I think they did a great job and there is no reason for you to carp.

Hm, EU2 is a great game which I enjoy greatly yada yada, but I wouldn't really say that it "accurately" represents ANY nation... especially not muslem or any non-European ones, as the game was, after all, originally made ot represent the age when Europe began to outpace the rest of the world, and therefore focues on Europe and how European nations were run.

That's why the game is called Europa Universalis and not Asia Universalis or America Universalis:D :D :D

Every extra little thing in the game = more time and expenses. As for simualting countries it would probably be well within their capabilities to include all, but the amount of extra work and research that is needed is to great. Or would we really want some halfcooked game when it comes to playing others than what they first intended to do?

as for the choice of having christian kingdoms that is a sure choice, the potential buyers do almost exclusivly live or have roots in those countries.
