To my horror I discovered that a vassal Pope will not call for any new crusade after The Jerusalem kingdom has been formed and there are no more European pagans/muslims. In my last game more than 80 years have passed since the last call and now I noticed that 'local' crusades can be called but they only last for...ONE DAY!!

The day immediately after the call the Pope himself removes it and blames everyone for this failure...

I tried it over and over for more than 20 years, but to no avail. I don't have the Holy Grail and the Pope is my vassal. I read on a thread that only independent popes can call for crusades so now I can understand why there were no 'global' crusades. But what about the local ones? Why aren't they allowed?
Additionally, I can't offer the pope to be independent anymore!!!

What's the point of stopping all possible crusades?
