Although obviously not the biggest issue currently in-game, I was just curious why 1. Infanterie-Div. is no longer in the naming list for Germany's regular infantry? Germany now starts with 2-25 Inf-Divs. instead of 1-24. Why the change and why leave it out? I'm confused.

Someone messed up the German starting OB, hopefully accidentally, renaming 1 ID as 5 ID and 5 ID as 25 ID. I think 1 ID is still on the list, but its way down the order.

It would also be nice if it were corrected so that divisions started at their home stations rather than randomly spread over the map, especially in western Germany. For example 20 & 22 ID's start the game in Bavaria, but were actually stationed in Wehrkreis X, headquartered in Hamburg. Most other divisions in western Germany are similarly distant from their home stations.

While we're making wishes, we could also hope that the starting templates & tech get fixed up as well. For example a 1936 German infantry division should have 60-86 artillery pieces (instead of 12), 75 AT guns (not even researched), recon from the cavalry divisions that aren't depicted, signals (not researched) and probably hospitals (not researched) as well.

I would totally support all of that.

That really is a lot of work. Maybe for Germany, it's easy to find 1936 and 1939 divisions locations, but for other countries it's a total time sink. I know because I've been doing it myself.

I'm pretty sure they've deliberately gimped the starting templates so we get to use army experience to remember things every Western army had in the minor scuffle between 1914 and 1918. Still it could be worse, on release several majors didn't even have support artillery in their templates or any artillery in the stockpile.

Personally I'd love to see divisions looking vaguely historical, but given the game mechanics heavily encourage 7/2 line divisions it's unlikely. Trying to recrate the British BEF 1st Division in 1940 is a nightmare. It should be something like Inf 9 or 10, Arty 3, AT 1, Cav 1 or Recon Company, Engineers and Signals. I'd accept a degree of approximation, but I'd definitely support a trend to proper triangular divisions.
