One of the most popular and iconic weapons of the war....you'd think there would be more of them. I think at most you can get is 2 of them, as AA weapons in phase C (2 slots, not double stacked). Why no modified AT version, like it was used during WW2? I know maybe its for balance purposes, since it is pretty beefy, but just curious as to what you guys think.

The Flak 36s and 41s can still be used for AT? Have you not tried them? They're pretty damn good. Probably why you can't get more of them.

Though, I suppose we'll have to wait for more Divisions to see if more 88s are introduced. Though historically, the luftwaffe divisions had the most 88s in the German forces because it was used for AA - we might not see more than we currently have.

I havent played too much axis yet. I played my first game today with the SS Panzers. I guess I'll have to mess around with it a bit. I don't think those guns have any armor penetration stats tho, so assumed they couldn't really hurt armored vehicles. Maybe stress them out but thats about it?

They *do* have an AP value of 16 at 1200m. Both the Flak 36 from the 91. Luftlande and the 12th SS Panzer. However they only carry 18 AP shells, the majority is 42 HE shells (also used for AA).

The Pak43 (88mm AT gun) should be making an appearance...... or at least it did in closed beta for the 352nd.

Deploy them covering wide open areas with a command unit near by, they are very effective against well... everything. Also note that the Luftlande division gets 88s with very high veterency.

Limited numbers of Flak 88s are quite accurate. Luftwaffe and Wehrmacht had argument during Normandy period on where and how to implement heavy Flak. Wehrmacht wanted guns on the front, with Luftwaffe being afraid that they would get lost easily and there would be no AA coverage at all, so they were placed further back.

Supposedly the 716th Static Division also had PaK 43s, but I never played the closed beta.

During the stream I have noticed that 716th has one Flak 88 available in phase A. We had PAK43's in closed beta and they were deadly. Quite surprised actually, that Luftlande doesn't have them, as according to Niehorster's ToE, it had a full compliment of 3 batteries of 4 PAK43s each in III/191 Artillerie Regiment

Also note that the Luftlande division gets 88s with very high veterancy.

That's prolly guns of Flak-Sturm-Regiment 1, which was in it's area of operations and was composed of very experienced personnel. Luftlande didn't have own Flak 88s, as it's organic 191 le.Flak Kompanie (Sf) had only light AA guns.

88s are the one thing that really need the damn transport vehicle to stick around, fire off a couple of rounds and the next thing that's going to happen is an artillery barrage and planes. Good luck dodging that on foot.

If the unit can transform from being transported into the gun unit itself, it should be able to transform back into the transportable unit again. Put a timer on it so people can't abuse it, but still be able to move cannons around efficiently.

Yea, just in case anyone doesn't know, you *can* actually shove everything back into a transport.

Look up the trucks, jeeps, and APCs - some will have a "Transport" value listed under them, "Very Light", "Light" or "Heavy". All units that come onto the battlefield that aren't self-propelled have a "Cargo Space" value of "Very Light, "Light" or "Heavy". 2-man units (so Recon and AT-infantry) are usually classed under "Very Light", 4 or 5-man units (so Scouts, MG teams, some Engineers, and Leaders) are usually "Light", and anything larger are classed as "Heavy" (most Infantry squads). Do note that all current Anti-Tank guns are classed as "Light", so most jeeps can tow them (Kublewagon Munitions ftw). Furthermore; as a result of having to carry Infantry, all Halftracks have a "Heavy" transport capacity, and since they don't disappear, that means armored divisions can shuffle around all of their crewed weapons seriously quickly.

Now, onto actually transporting your units. It's fairly complicated - select your transport unit and them right-click the unit you want to stuff in there. Get it? Good. :)
