No migration for authoritarians in caste system?

So i started a new game playing a decadent zealot empire, i was so hyped until i found out that my main, and only, founder species cant migrate of world...

I find this very odd with an unfortunate addition that this slows empire development. This forced me to resettle pops to compensate.

Is this WAD or an oversight?

Considering authoritarians get a resettling cost reduction, I'd say WAD (You should just be able to hover over the migration and see why they can't do it)

it says its due to them being in a caste system, but it doesnt make sense to me that the founder species in an empire has no right to migrate whereever it wants even if in a caste system

Because since 1.5 every species has own laws. In 1.4 'Caste system' was a system which include all species in your realm. In 1.5 'Caste system' is the law of your species. Other species can have another law.

And how does this prevent individually caste from migrating?
After all, the law on migration is also individual.

You can migrate if you remove the caste system.

Think about what would happen if you had both free migration and caste system.
Since auto-slavery depends on which tile the pop is working, you would have slaves leaving from food/minerals, landing on energy/science/blank tiles and becoming free, and vice versa.

The two systems are incompatible for AI reasons and probably thematic reasons as well.

And no, you can't just have the slaves pick only food/minerals to migrate to, and same with the upper class picking only correct tiles. Not being able to control who goes where is literally the only downside of migration vs. Resettlement.

Ok you place to be on top of society.
Have rights that others havent.

No... this isn't what 'Caste society' means. 'Caste society' don't mean that your species is on the top.
If your species has caste society it means everyone in your species is bond to the caste system. The leaders are in the highest class, the normal population in a lower class.

It totally makes sense to allow free migration, noit for the slaves obviously, but the ones who are not should be allowed to move. Let the player define their rights to define what "caste system" actually means. Maybe it means that there are two castes, free men and the slaves for example. Take the untied states during slavery for example. People could move freely, except for the slaves.

I was surprised that my Authoritarian could except migration treaties. No one moved one way or the other, just odd that it was an option.
That... is kind of strange.

"In theory, if anyone was allowed to move around in my empire, your people would totally be free to come here, and mine would totally be free to go visit you."

Ok, prohibit migration for slaves. Its easily.
The problem is that under caste system, whether or not you're a slave is determined by what tile you're on. You could easily end up with pops becoming slaves by migrating, which doesn't really make sense.

I suspect the reason free migration is disallowed for caste system is due to edge cases like this in the way the game mechanic works, not for flavour reasons.

Just change the species rights for your founder pops. I do this when playing authoritarian. My founder species is the only one with full citizen rights; everyone else goes into the caste system.

Pop on powerplant = free peoples - can migrate.
Pop on farm = slave - cant migrate.

Was free, become slaves on new planet. Why not?
May be they should migrate to non farms/mines tiles.
