Does anyone knows the rules of the workshops? For example will a mod being featured there containing the real German flag be censored and deleted? I am just curious because I intend to make a mod and I want to have the correct flags for every nation.
Ultimately it would be up to Steam. However, if PDOX (or a player) were to make a point about what their rules say, Steam would probably block that content.

yes. they were extremely brittle

I can understand that you don't need it for techs, but if you don't have country specific scripts, how and where is the country specific production done/calculated?

Edit:
I guess this is a nono?;)

The new techs are like a mix of the HoI3 tech and the HoI3 decision.:)

It looks great!

It is probably to much to ask, to post the complete code of the German infantry/air/naval/tank tech tree?;)

As far as I know, Paradox rules only apply on their own forums and not on Steam.

Real flags containing "the real symbols" are forbidden in some countries, reason why is forbidden also here.
But not in all coutries that symbols are forbidden. Reason why i think a mod can use it if released only for those specific countries.
Steam use a similar politics of paradox, its a international soft platform. Maybe prefer do not be censored.

I must say that I am not happy to hear that country-specific tech trees are not going to be in the game. Or maybe that's not the issue - what I would like to hear is that Japan and the USSR, for example, are not going to prioritize the same sequence of techs. That would lead to some very odd and ahistorical results.

Variants and Tech teams give countries unique flavors in this department.
AI should get techs that it has the most need for.

Yes, but if there are no specific country lua scripts, how and where is the country specific production coded. In HoI3, the majors and a couple of minors had their own script. Where you could change the production weights for that specific country. Ie, where is it coded that USA/JAP/ENG should build carriers and GER/ITA not.

Maybe, im not sure of that. Depends on Steam politic.
Steam could also decide to not sell soft in a specific country, and sell it in all the others.
Or sell it in a modified version. You may ask directly to Steam.

I dont know exactly about that, because in my country there are no restrictions.
Here all the expressions of historical symbols are lawful, expecially if them do not represent the personal idea of a subject but a representation of an historical events.
And wargame could be considered a form of historical representation, not the personal politic idea of the developer.

It would be nice to get an official response from somebody as I don't want to see my steam account being banned for basically nothing. I know it would not be possible to actually post it here on the forums. But I don't live in such a country where they censor games.

I think you've misunderstood what he said. We've seen country specific tech trees for Germany and Italy, so we can assume for instance Japan =/= Russia's tech tree.

What he did say, is that there is not a country specific research AI script. Anything further than that is speculation.

I can see where your concerns come from, but I'm sure they've thought of these kind of issues (or, in the very, very unlikely case they haven't, it'll crop up pretty quick when Russia starts researching and building more aircraft carriers than the UK!) If we're lucky, the AI scripts are the same, but the inputs to them (hopefully moddable) are tweakable, so that the 'country perspective' is an input into the script, rather than the script itself.

Not sure what you mean by this. The tech tree's themselves are completely generic and the same for each country. There is no difference between the tank trees for Germany and Italy, except different name and graphic overlays (e.g. The 1942 medium tank for Germany is the Panther). However, Countries will likely start at different places on those trees.

Since I know a Valve employee, I asked him and here is response:
