A new DLC about local public transport, but nothing for tram networks. No new road-track-combinations, not even a bus-tram-station. Could you at least add a tram-combi-station for bus and maybe monorail, please. It would be an interessting idea to switch between the two systems. One area of the city uses trams, another uses monorail. And in between you have stations to conect the systems -- sort of.

tl;dr
More love for trams!

It seemed at first Mass Transit was half-done, it seemed much was missing however if you have a look at the list of features, these guys have achieved an incredible amount of work

I thought it would be nice at first, but I am having a hard time seeing the point in a lot of it for most combinations.

This one could be useful. I would have liked if they had done that.

They generally don't mix and match with other DLCs, so it was pretty much a given that they were not going to do it.

Metro should have gotten some love though.

Indeed, the Tram needs some loving, while playing through one of their scenarios I was annoyed when I ultimately wound up getting blocked from expanding my Tram system(that I was intended to tie into the monorail) when I discovered I couldn't do Road(not avenue) + Tram + Monorail on the same tile. Presented a bit of a problem when I was trying to pass my tram through a segment of road + monorail on a roundabout. :(

i really want trams to be given a bit more attention, certainly more than blimps but it just seems like the tram tools are only half done... they cant be used on many road types, and i dont know if its just me or if others find that cims just dont use the trams...

I have experimented turning on and off bus routes on the exact same route as a tram line, with stops in exactly the same place... the buses fill up with more people than can fit on the buses at some stops...

then when i turn the bus line off, and the tram line on, im lucky to get 10 or 20 people on the tram at any one time... then back off with the tram and on with the bus and all the people come back and fill up the buses...... ive even tried making trams with a 0 ticket price and still nothing....

maybe the issue with trams is that the station stops are in the middle of the roads so the CIMs need a road crossing nearby to be able to get to them. whereas for bus stops they are on the pavement so it doesn't matter where you put the bus stops, as CIMs can get to them with little difficulty.

i was thinking the exact same thing, that those mid-road stops just arent as accessible to the cims (or at least not appealing for them to use). having said that i do have crossings to connect to every stop (the crossings are automatically added by the game and not by using the crossing mod), and i only put tram stops at intersections so the stops are as close to possible to the ped crossing and they dont have to cross the road and walk up the median strip to the stop, but i still think that they dont like using these mid road stops as much as road side stops.

I haven't used trams in awhile. When I did, I did feel that they were rarely utilized by cims. I always made stops near intersections where cims could cross to the tram stops.

The bell is a little annoying too.

yes this is exactly what my experience is...I started putting tram stops near crossings (best effect is to have bus stops dropping people who immediately cross the street and use a tram), people just dont walk to the middle of the road...in my country we have crossings for tram stops (often with traffic lights) or we have tunnels or bridges for walkers which have a connection to tram stops. Maybe an option to manually create crossing anywhere we want would fix this issue.

There is learning curve to use trams efficiently. Some extra game mechanics should be adjusted though (for example modern "absolute preference" at crossroads, its silly watching 3 trams stuck at traffic lights watching 5 cars moving through crossroads).

I feel satiated with the metro being integrated into the new stations.

I do feel there needs to be more love for the trams though, especially a tram/bus hub (maybe a skilled modder could make Manchester Shudehill?)

I'm more disappointed in "no love for metro" than the trams. (Not against trams getting a little love though.)

I could live without it coming above the surface, but some multi-track stations for it would have been nice. Plus alternate angles. Plus connect pedestrian walkway underground directly to the metro station.

After some recent playthroughs, I think some of this is Pathfinding AI in play. The AI seems to strongly favor a "Shortest distance" path selection, so if your highway ramp, or mass transit station is "too far out of the way" (in the middle of the road) then the AI will not use it.
