I have heard many people complain that there in certain circumstances, there is no Hindu tolerance slider. Are they going to change this in the next patch?

Yes the key word is SHOULD. If you are for example the Mughal Empire you have alot of Hindu provinces and no hindu slider (even if you start out as the Timurids and invade India later on) I am thinking this is just for the Muslim Sultunates in India to make their rule more interesting. Does this happen to European conquerers in India as well?

Yes, this is true for European nations as well. I think the problem is the limited amount of space in the window in which the sliders appear. An easy work-around would be to add a scroll bar on the window when necessary. Another work-around would be to make the window in the sliders appear bigger. I think there should be a slider for each of the religious groups within your empire, with the exeption of pagan.

Actually a lot of this is intentional.
Hindu, Confuscian, and Buddhism are treated the same as "Pagan" religions by European powers - just as in EU 1.

Adding an extra slider would unbalance the religious tolerance - by letting people persecute more than they need. For example, Sunni nations have an extra slider differentiating Sunni from Shiite, but to counterbalance this they never get a slider for "reformed" (they just consider them protestants.)

You do, however, get different sliders if you play as one of the new religions. China, for example, gets a "Christians" slider, and uses the extra space to add confuscian and buddhism.

As YokoZar said, this is all intentional: occidental religions (christian and muslims) do not have tolerance sliders for oriental religions, i.e. they have the standard tolerance for them (+1 revolt risk). I agree this can be a problem for states bordering oriental regions, like the Mughual Empire, but that's the design.

I can understand how China could have a "Christian" slider. European countries could have a single slider to cover Hinduism, Buddhism, and Confucianism if space is short. But I don't think it is right to have Bengal ruling over only Hindu provinces without even a single slider to affect it (even a Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism slider). To me, groupings such as "Christian" or "Eastern religions" make sense, but the total lack of a slider does not, in my opinion. Actually I would like to see a Pagan slider as well, but can tolerate not having one. :)
