Hey folks,

Just checking in on this as I saw some tweets from Kiva showing her 'Mechs stomping about with her company logo proudly emblazoned upon them.

From day 1 I have never, ever seen my company emblem upon any of my 'Mechs so was wondering if anyone has or it's an issue that's simply at my end. I have every graphics setting on either High or Ultra and not running any mods at all. I have selected several logos as Kiva suggested if the colours are too similar to the paint schemes it may be difficult to spot so I chose the most garish or bright logos I could and still none displayed upon the 'Mech.

So over to you, do you have logos visible and if so what did you do to get them?

Thanks in advance, VK.

Nothing on my mechs. I use a custom logo which appears fine on all Argo parts so maybe this is something new for Tuesday?

Only on certain mechs - with the Vahalla or Umbra paint scheme?

Even custom ones show up, but not on every 'Mech. The Thud seems an easy one to spot since it's right there under the LRM-15 drum:

In fact, going through my screenshot folder, I can't seem to find any emblems on any 'Mechs but the Thud. None on the lights (Locust, Commando, Jenner, Spider, Firestarter, Panther), or mediums (Shadow Hawk, Vindicator, Centurion) that I tend to use.

So perhaps there is a bug with the emblems.

Hmm, I would have to pull the Shadowhawk out of storage, but can't say I've noticed it before.

Does it display when in the mech bay too?

It's only on the Valhalla or Umbra skins, which is sad. I wish we could have unit emblems on every paint job. There is even stuff in lore about enlarged unit emblems on the backs of 'Mechs to prevent friendly fire incidents in a brawl. Given we end up looking at the backside of our own machines frequently on camera zoom, that would be a great place to add them on.

Yes. As the above posts state, it's only with the Valhalla paint scheme it seems (and not on all of them either, the Commando and Shadow Hawk don't seem to have emblems)

Atlas, right shoulder:

Orion, left shoulder:

Edit: My bad, the Shadow Hawk does have it, but it can be obscured by the missile launcher in the right torso. I usually stick a LRM-10 in there, but this one doesn't have any weapons yet:

I got a similar problem with the valhalla logo on the argo hull in the mainscreen.

Everytime i start a game anew with chosen vahalla logo, it does not appear on the ship‘s hull .

I first have to change the logo in the Captains quarter into a standard logo, save it and them choose the vahalla logo again to make it work.

What I don't get is they got those giant open shoulder pauldrons and then choose to put the logo under the missile launcher that's there on the stock config and the most common refits. They put it on the shoulders for the Umbra skin too, there's also space on the front of the hips or lower CT as well.

How do you know the names of the paint jobs?
The Valhalla, Umbra, and SBA paint jobs state the as their pattern name. All the others have names too (some examples given in the art book), but are given as "Pattern #" in game.

Are such special paint jobs available to kickstarter backers only, or are they included in non-backer release too?
It's another thing for the wish-list, but even as a lower-tier Kickstarter backer with Umbra Shadow Hawk and SBA Atlas I'd shell out $10 for those extra skins (or new equivalents so as not to upset the high-tier backers) now that we're post-launch.

The Umbra paint job and special geometry for the Shadow Hawk is only available for those who pre-ordered the game.
The SBA (Special Backer Atlas?) paint job and special geometry for the Atlas is only available for those who Kickstarted at the MechWarrior level ($50) or above.
Valhalla paint jobs are only available for those who Kickstarted at the Initiate of the Order level ($85) or above.

As nice as it would be, I think those special skins should stay special to those who backed BattleTech. Would I like those skins? Sure, take them in a heartbeat but the folks who put their hands in their pockets to help get the game out to the rest of us should have a little something to themselves. I don't grudge them that.

Now if HBS did a skins DLC for a few bucks, wouldn't that be something we could all chuck £5 at, or dollars, euros, pango-pango nuts or currency of your choosing!

oh well, I'll have to make do without such special skins then, as I was not aware of the BATTLETECH kickstarter then...
of course, if HBS would ever release them in a skins DLC I'd buy such DLC on day 1.
