Hi guys and gals. Bad news! We are currently crunching to get lots of good stuff into hoi4 for a christmas deadline so we just don't have time to make a diary right now.

So I recently re-read all the dev diaries.. Like ya do.

I don't quite think that middle "different" ship is a CL, it was mentioned early that models would let you be able to see the tech level, could that be 3 destroyers of varying tech?

With Runemaster "frozen," and the lack of a dev diary this month, I really think it boils down to HOI IV being a very difficult beast to tame. Since EU IV and CK II are on DLC mode right now, I think it's pretty clear that HOI IV is responsible for the demise of Runemaster. Everyone at PDS want's HOI IV to be successful, and I also really want it to be, so if it is responsible for a lack of a dev diary this month, and it pains me to say the end of Runemaster, then so be it. I choose to believe right now that it will be worth it in the end.

The freezing of Runemaster had nothing to do with HOI4 and everyone involved were placed in other projects than HOI.

Didn't most WWII warships have most of their guns towards the pointy end?

Actually, that's a common myth, but I can see why you're confused. The truth is, WWII warships tried to have most of their guns towards the enemy.


I see a "A", "X", "Y" turret distribution as opposed to the much more common "A", "B", "Y".

I'd have to check in-game to be sure, but from the screenshot, it looks like a generic light cruiser. It appears to be a mix of the German Königsberg class (which did have an A, X, Y configuration although with triple turrets) and the British Emerald class (Three smokestacks, but with seven guns in six or seven turrets).

DDs are at least a few hours to write, and can be more depending on if the writer knows all the details of the feature or has to ask someone else, plus you need to have the UI/art for whatever you are showing in place. And yeah, then there's the time spend following the thread to reply to people/put out fires.

Ah. I was getting worried about National Dog feature. Nice to see it's still under intense development.
It's no wonder you don't have time to write the dev diary, considering how many nations (and national dogs) there are - I mean you probably just have all the office full of dog and have dozens of people constantly feeding/watering/getting them out for a walk... Although I suppose it depends on whether or not all the countries will have it's special dog (and model) or whether only majors will... But even so, you probably have to spend lot of time to get them doing same things for same animations...

Well, minor nations will only get unique dogs with DLC, but we are currently on track with breeding and will be able to offer Day-1-Dogs as we like to call them. I know people will say these dogs should have been in the base game for free, but you have to understand that these have a separate food budget. Heck the Giant Mastiff eats as much as all the south american dogs put together
