Having held the English French possessions from game start and they have contributed more to their defense against French aggreesion then any "English" troops...I am surprized!!!

"for 25 years.... I've walked with him...fought with him..talked with him.
For 25 years my bed is his...if that's not love...!
What is....?!"

Fiddler on the Roof..

and for 380 years...and they're still not loyal enough for conscription centres....revolt risk ZERO for 200 years!!!!

Dah!!!

You could always edit the save game files.
I usually do this if I inherit a country, after 30 years,I add the inherited provinces to my CB provinces list, since these are 'my' royal lands.

Precisely - you can only build conscription centers in provinces you have CB shields on; doesn't matter if they're your start-game provinces or not, or how long you've held them. (if you're playing France for example, you can build one in Alsace right after you conquer it, if you have the tech, cause you have a CB shield on Alsace.

England doesn't have any CB shields outside the British Isles, and the ones they do have inside the Isles depend on which version of the game you've got (which update, IGC or not, which IGC version, etcetera.)

BTW you said 380 years? The original EU only goes 300... are you playing EU2? (Just asking cause there's several differences, and they have a seperate forum... over here you might get an occasional wrong anwer cause we're talking about EU1.)

The army sizes in EU are unrealistic anyway, and having more conscriotion centres increases the number of men you can raise in a given province, but the over all manpower limit is not effected is it?

Consc. centres increase the overall manpower rating as well. But it's good idea that only national provinces have one: this way it's harder for you (or AI) to gather huge armies in your newly conquered provinces. NB! If you take enemy province with consc centr, you will get their consc. center as a bonus as well :)

Yes...it is EUII under discussion (sry if in wrong forum).

I quess the point is that the Norman kings (dukes...whatever) who conquered England (1066)...held historical holdings (Provinces in France) that they lost due to mis-government....

But if they had... managed to retain those possessions and the Provinces were happy with the arrangement (A strech... I'll grant)....

Y would those happy French/England subjects be adverse to fighting for the Crown (A French Crown at that!) ?

and/or When DOES a part of your historical country BECOME historicized as part of your nation?

Oh well! It's a small matter anyway...

Far as I am aware, the CB shields don't change automatically. You can build a conscription center in any province you own that has your shield on it. You can't build one in any other provinces you own. Doesn't matter how long they've been part of your country. You'll mostly see this with France or possibly the Netherlands - they have a tendency to conquer the last of their CB provinces relatively late in the game.

You can add CB shields if you want by hacking into the savegame file. Just go down where it lists your "owned provinces", "controlled provinces" and "national provinces". You'll want to add that province's number code to the "national provinces" line - that's what places the CB shield on it. Finding out the number can be done by looking through your entry in the savegame - there's another section that lists your armies and your cities... find one that's in that province and copy its location number.
