Hello Everyone,

I am playing NSB as the US and I have forces in Norway, I have retaken multiple ports, but they all say that there is no connection to the Capital. This has resulted in supply shortages

I'm not sure if this is a glitch or if I do not understand how the new supply works.

You're short of something. If you're down to 65 convoys, that's problem #1. Connection to the Capital in this case is a big string of convoys, and 65 won't be enough.

I noticed the 7/80 on the trucks, too. Again, short of something.

Post a save, and we can get you more definitive information.

Also, notice all the white lines that appear/disappear around the supply bases? Those are ships grabbing supplies as they go through.

So even though I have Convoys on hand, I still might not have enough to fully support the supply I need? In the first picture, it shows that the US can support 20 supplies to me. That didn't seem to make a lot of sense, seeing as I was playing the US.

I have attached my saved game (or at least I hope I shared the correct file)

OK, the convoy thing is a red herring. The Supply bases are not requesting help from the US or UK at this point, so no sea supply.

However, you're fighting multiple things:

Lack of trucks, as in I'm amazed it's giving you trucks for supply, with the current state of your stockpile.
Norway_short_of_trucks.PNGNorway_truck_stockpile.PNG
Scaled Supply because you only own 37% of the state, but that may actually be a red herring in this case. Infra is 3/5 in the state, and rails are level 2, so the supply bases aren't bad, either. The supply bases are helping, as seen in the screenshot. EDIT2: Actually Infrastructure is damaged to 1/5 in the state, so that's making it worse, because innate province supply is lower.
Norway_scaled_37pct.PNGNorway_infrastructure.PNG
Supplying through deep snow, with not enough trucks is not letting stuff get to the units properly. EDIT: Added Forest terrain modifiers, too.
That's what is really hurting you, and the lack of trucks is making it worse, and/or is contributing to said shortage:
Norway_Deep_Snow.PNGNorway_Forest.PNG
And, also, not helping, are the ships grabbing supply. See the white lines going out into the water, and the ships drawing supply? Those are grabbing supply flow, and what is going to the ships isn't going to the troops, especially with the Deep Snow debuff slowing the flow rate of supplies, as in the previous picture.
Norway_ships_supply.PNG

Please, don't shoot the messenger. I'm not here to argue about what the supply system should or should not be doing. I'm just trying to give some insight into what it *is* doing.

(As an aside, for the most part people need to forget they ever saw or heard the 15/20/25/30/35 supply cap numbers on supply bases. Those are theoretical maximums that only very rarely will any supply base actually hit.)

EDIT: I think the No Connection to the Capital is a red herring as well. The supply bases are giving supply, but it's not getting to the units very well. I suspect if you started demanding more than the bases had available, a sea supply route would show up and make that connection.

Sorry if I come off as trying to shoot the messenger. I am really just trying to understand the new systems with NSB. Under the old system as long as I had even one transport in the stockpile I was good for meeting my supply needs. So it seems weird that I would have 67 and not have enough to meet demand. I didn't realize that I was having those supply issues from weather and damaged infrastructure either.

What was super weird to me was that the port wasn't showing any connection to the capital, so thought that it might be a glitch or something. I guess I need to build up a bigger stockpile of transports as well as have more trucks earlier in the game. I obviously can't do much about the weather or terrain.

Thank you for taking a look!

Playing with Mexico, he sent several units as volunteers to Italy. I get that same message and I can't move them .....

They were two years without moving because if they did, they would run out of supply

I think it's different for volunteers. They *might* be able to motorize a supply base, can't remember for sure, but otherwise you're at the mercy of whoever you're fighting for's supply, good or bad, iirc.
