But is it really worth it to Download each and every patch? Personally I think it is a bit much... So, should I simply wait until they come out with a 1.07?

Basically it is up to you. Look at the changes and decide if you want to participate in the beta process.

[irony]No, you must download each and every patch and all 'b' version of each and every patch. then you have to download all the patches for all the regional versions, and all the mirrors available and store all the patches in special folders on your harddisk. make backup copies on burned cds of all the patches and all the versions and all mirror patches and then look at them and marvel at the ingenuity and omnipresence of "da web"[/irony]
