No Canada?

Recently played a CG as UK (got tired of being told what I couldn't do )

1867 came and went with no event for setting up a Dominion for Canada. Since I had set up a couple of factories there, I saw no reason to release them myself, so I wound up controlling Canada for the entire game.

Is there no scripted event for Canada? I see the AI release Canada every game.

That is because making Canada a dominion is an AI event.

So there are no incentives for a human GB to release Canada? I guess the same goes for Australia as well?

There are no events for the human player for Canada, Australia, or New Zealand. However, there is an event for South Africa (tied into the Boer War events).

No events for a human player, but for the AI? Hmmm.... seems to contradict quite clearly the concept that "all nations are playable", if playing a nation renders it eventless, IMHO.

What would be the ramifications of enabling the events for a human player? (I haven't looked at the event-files, so I'm curious).

I'm not quite sure what you mean here. All countries at the start of each scenario is playable.

The three events (6946 through 6948) are located in the UK event file. To make them work for a human player, you would need to remove the "ai = yes" entry in the trigger, and change the name & desc entries to something relevant.

I think Rafiki (and me) are curious as to why those events where made "AI specific". In my opinion, they would only add flavor to the players game. Give us as many events as you can!

The AI event proably only says A-Release, B- Don't release at the historical date. The player can just releace them normally if they feel like it.

There are a few other events for Canada (i.e. Riel, Pacific Scandal, etc.), Australia (a few exploration ones, IIRC), & New Zealand (the Maori Wars, etc.).
