no bigger ships than battleships

i was hoping for 2 bigger ship classes
something like

class 1. big carrior ships , titan ships, battlestar gallactica size ships, the big romulan ship in star trek 10 ,,,

class 2. doom star , super star destroyer, tactical bork cube ,,,

,,,,,,,,,
on a side note i do find the ship battles with all the fancy colours a bit of a chaotic mess ,, sadly
the sizes of the engines , thrusters, missles, torpedos, lasers , have almost the same size of all those ships
i would like some more clarity ,, less mess ,, maybe some bigger ships would help see the battle better what exactly is going on

Battleships can be carriers, and i always thought Galactica was a battleship...

Anyway there is a bigger class than battleship, the class you can build being a military dictatorship

On a less deplorable note, I would say it's not so much the paucity of ship classes that upsets me as it is their tech distribution. The Blorgstream's been running for, what, about 10 hours total and we've already researched the top ship class? What sort of game-length is this? Is it for casuals?

I don't mind not knowing exactly what's going on - battles are supposed to be messy.
But I will agree that the clusterfuck of everyone-fly-straight-at-everyone-else-until-the-screen-is-just-one-big-long-explosion was taking the piss a bit. Granted, it's not supposed to represent any real tactics, but there's got to be a happy medium between "rigorous fleet microsimulation" and "PEWPEWFUCKINGPEWBLAMKBOOMIMTOTALLYTRIPPINGBALLS"

as has already been stated the over sized military ship that at least one government can build is basically a dreadnaught.

Also you can design carriers and the like, the hull segments have different mounts afterall (and different sizes I believe to a degree)
