I dont get any audio at all in the game, not even in the launcher. Its completely silent, even if i have all the volume slider maxed out.

I had a sound problem with no sound playing whatsoever as well. What fixed it for me was setting Stellaris to run in Win7 compatibility mode (I am on Win10).
Hello +1 here. Just bought the game same problem. Absolutely no sound. Comp. mode doesn't correct it
Ok here's what I found - I am using Headphones connected on a USB port. As previously stated since I bought yesterday Stellaris haven't had any sound and still haven't played this game.
Now I tried and disconnected my headphones and used my monitor speakers (that are awful btw) and using the monitor sound does work.
Is there a way for me to enable sound with the USB headphones?

what fixed it for me was opening the sound tab in the control panel, it told me there was an error and then just asked me whether i wanted to fix it
