hmmmmmm......not an easy choice - but then again....I think we have a pretty good picture now - and I would like to see how that invasion goes along....action is my vote I cannot take the waiting anymore.....and besides if you defeat the allied.....what is there to show afterwards

looks like there might be some resistance at san diego! are you sure your marines can defeat those tanks?

I would like to see the invaison of the US soon - The sense of impending doom for the USA that comes from see all the Japanese preparation makes me glad this is ahistorical.

Lifeless: I was pretty confident at the time... Those marines have had a certain amount of experience winkling american tanks out of pacific islands, although with (slightly) more open terrain the fight will be much more difficult. I'm relying on fire support from the fleet to get my troops ashore and then numbers and entrenchment to keep them there.

Great overview, Mr. Young. I'm also ready to see the Japanification of the West Coast. Looks like sushi's going to make it's debut im America a little earlier than expected!

They're the three starting escort carriers, none have been built. It's not that I don't think they're useful, because they are. It's just that three is enough to escort the main troop fleets - you only really need one per fleet because their main advantage lies in keeping the enemy at long range while the fleet disengages. This limits the threat from conventional warships but won't do much against full fleet-class carriers of course!
