There already is post match chat. By default, for whatever reason the chat window is closed when you get to the results. Just click the "Chat" button in the lower right to open it back up.
You just proved my point, "I'd prefer they focus on *quality of life* features rather than new maps and thumbnails." The game is unpolished in it's current state. Work on polishing the game before worry about things like map variations and unit thumbnails. Quality over quantity.

Would be nice to chat with your team mates and maybe tee up another match. Why would they hide the chat?

Chat isn't open by default so that Warchat 2 doesn't emerge. It's a feature not a bug, and a good feature at that. Play some WRD and you'll quickly see why global chat open isn't a good idea, especially in a game where you see global chat every time you hit the escape button.

Why would I want to see "Global chat" at the end of a match? That's just stupid. That's just another example of a badly implemented feature. Even when I join a lobby I'm still in global chat. Who's in charge of quality control at Eugen? It's not like this is their debut game either, they've been developing games for years and we still get this kind of stuff in their games.

Thanks for supporting the game... But this is another kinda underwhelming update, the main highlights in reality being single reoriented old map, new unit portraits, +5/-5 here and there.

Also the notion "We take slow approach", can only mean something along the lines: "We've got like 3-5 tops people left working on SD, rest got moved to other projects..."

What about major game breaking issues like reconnect feature, improved lobby/matchmaking and other non-gameplay related things? Instead resources are being wasted on new unit portraits... Seriously? How is that meant to improve the game? Did anyone actually asked for that? Jeez...

Again, sorry for negativity, but this is just meh...

This game cannot support another underwhelming fluff update, we are into the 300's of average players, from the looks of how slow and anemic these updates have been, my guess is that Eugen has already determine the game to be a flop and not worth dedicating more than a few side programmers on.

Wow... the next underwhelming patch with a big name:
It seemed important to us to make a more general balance update before going into the detail of each one of the divisions. Indeed, the update will impact the gameplay and by extent the balance between divisions themselves. We preferred to work step by step, take our time and not rush the balancing. We can assure you that balancing the divisions will come soon.

To put this into perspective, this was said about the upcoming patch in "The Duellist":

Finally, we noticed that our last balance update And Justice for All provoked a wide range of responses. We are aware of what needs to be improved, and that our work isn’t done. Your reactions, combined with a thorough analysis of the game’s statistics help us improving the overall balance. The next patch will bring some changes to complement what was done in the last one.

Which is based on "And Justice for All":
Since the game’s release three weeks ago, we’ve been working hard on improving the game experience. While our main focus has always been to make the game technically stable and exterminate the remaining bugs, our game design team have been analyzing the multiplayer games’ statistics and implemented more than 60 balance tweaks on most of the divisions in the game.

So, in short:
We'll pretty much won't see the amount of balance needed with the next patch.
That they let "special players" test the new patch might sound like a great idea... but it also shows that they have themselves no clue what they do and how it even impacts the game or they don't know how much they can trust their statistics they base the upcoming changes on.
I don't know what is more frightening.
