This would be awesome to have and it would be nice to be able to search multiple player amounts as well. Something like check boxes for 1vs1 ... 4vs4.
Matchmaking gets another chance to take off at the games release.

Yeah. As much as I think transition from Lobbies to MM is one of the most important improvements over WG, I am very weary. Being a long Wargmaing titles player, MM over there struggled already when there was less than 2500 players online. And mind that these are games where multiplayer is actually the only mode to play, with no options to choose from whatsoever.

I doubt that we will ever reach those numbers here, so it makes me think that splitting MM into modes is not a very good idea...

They've pretty much kneecapped themselves in making matchmaking work, same as every other Wargame. It's all about getting a critical mass of players to drive the matchmaking, and once everyone is doing something else it's hard to fix.

I'm really happy to see what they did in the latest patch, by making the first thing you see in multiplayer "Quick Match", instead of a custom lobby mode called "Multiplayer". That's a huge improvement. Unfortunately, since that's a recent change and for most of the beta we didn't even have quickmatch much less have a GUI that encouraged the player to use it, everyone's currently used to custom matches and inertia kind of hoses us.

Hopefully enough people will switch over and newcomers will gravitate towards quick match, and it'll get worked out. Other than that, not sure what they could do other than annoying a bunch of people by turning off custom lobbies entirely for a month or so to get people to get used to using quickmatch. The enhancements mentioned by the OP are a good idea and could help some, though.

We need more Options,ye GG no RE :(..

They have been working on this game for 2 years ,but worked probably 2 days on Matchmaking with a astonishing result of copy pasting Ranked and naming it Quick Play without Elo points....just ridicilous.

Specially love the Blog entry and the phenomenal sentence- With our newly developed Quick Play mode, the endless waiting time before a multi-game is now officially over.

Didnt had the time to play yesterday ,just installed it and checked whats new and saw the Custom Lobby section,20 lobbys opened...

GG no RE ...

Surely this problem will partly solve itself when the game is formally released, provided it gets decent reviews, marketing, etc.

Gonna go ahead and eat my words here-- I haven't seen a quickmatch queue with more than 10 people in it and I've never had a match in under 5 minutes. There is one exception : I queued for a 2v2 and ended up in a 1v2 match (with myself the 1).

I think quick play need to be less restrictive to open up the number of games you can join. Being able to tick for allies vs Allies and same for Axis would help, also let us pick a number of different game sizes we want to join, and then team up to make the numbers:

So if I start quick play with a friend, and we tick 2v2 and 3v3, it will find another 2v2 game or if not pair us up with someone looking for a 1v1 (who has ticket the 3v3 box) so we all get more chance to get in a game.
