Nobody's playing Quick Play at all. This is so irritating, it's a dead concept with public lobbies still being open for games. If EUG wants to encourage people use it more they should close lobbies for public games, so einfach ist das.

Yeah, I can't believe how rare that feature is in matchmaking in games with distinct sides or roles that split up where you can be matched into. I'm almost always happy to fill whatever role/team/whatever is less popular over waiting longer, but only a tiny percentage of games that matchmake like that give you the option to do a "I can do whatever you need" search.

Let us search with an axis and allied team concurrently. Mirror matches suck, but so does waiting. Right now I just flip around every few minutes so that if somebody is sitting on the other side I catch them.

Or, show who is searching and for which faction.

If you have to wait for more than 1 minute for a 4v4 or lower, that means that there are at most fewer than 4 people queueing for Allies and that says VOLUMES about the size of our playerbase and how horribly we need to draw in new players.

EDIT: I say allies cuz all you freaks do nothing but Axis.

It need to let us search several formats at the same time (ex: i want to search from 3v3 to 4v4).
Give infos about the numbers of players searching and from which side they are.

Surely this problem will partly solve itself when the game is formally released, provided it gets decent reviews, marketing, etc.

quickplay is dead because the implementation is half-assed and lobbies are still around. custom games need to be restricted to 10vs10s and mods, everything else should go through matchmaking

He's describing almost exactly the options features I asked for in the VIP beta in Ragga's thread IIRC.

I'm just hoping they have it ready by release so fresh meat can flood the matchmaker.

With the release being next Tuesday, I'm quite surprised they didn't take the opportunity to test such an important feature through out. Especially, besides ranked mm in WG, this will be something new to Eugen...

I'm just saying that folks on Tuesday won't be as forgiving and willing to bring feedback in, as we are now.

I think every WG-veteran has the right to be sceptical for now :D

I am rather optimistic,if you hear that guy saying-ye we want more options,thats a good sign imo :).

But the real question is how to get the natural born pubstompers out of the Custom Games without deleting that Button in the Menu :eek:

No way that to happen imo,they wont give up on public lobbys.

Everything is going step by step and in a good way.Quick match is first on the menu,Multiplayer game has been renamed to custom game.I also start to belive that that bizzare removal of the possibility to see other lobbys who are hosted while being in your own lobbys is also planned to annoy players who still play custom games haha:).

The problem is you can search for only one amount of players at a time. I don't care if it is 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, I'd like to play a game. Using quickmatch sadly slows down the process of joining whatever lobby is available. And there are lobbies always available.

Suggestion: Allow quickmatch players to join lobbies that are in the custom games menu. This is the perfect compromise as those like me who would like to choose an allied or axis division and immediately want to get in game would not have to wait. As the person I quoted points out, lobbies are axis heavy. Those that want to play a particular division can wait in their lobbies.

Question: Are games hosted via quickmatch hosted on Eugen servers? If this is the case I would exclusively use quickmatch even if it means a 10 minute wait. The lag of a single person that is too far from their router can be pretty disruptive. This is something that could be advertised to encourage the use of quickmatch.

This would be awesome to have and it would be nice to be able to search multiple player amounts as well. Something like check boxes for 1vs1 ... 4vs4.

Matchmaking gets another change to take off at the games release.

So after release we will have public lobbies, quick play and ranking modes. We don't have nearly enough playerbase to saturate those modes, it will boil down to 5 minutes waiting to get a game or a good old lobby wanking. It saddens me tremendously.
