First off--this ISN'T a complaint. Bought the game, happy I bought it. Just wondering if there is any kind of a general time-frame for the next patch to resolve the multiple issues still outstanding.
If any of you have ever worked in a software shop you would understand why there are bugs in a game of this type. I am surprised at what they produce given the scope of this game (I would expect more bugs).

Well, that's impossible. No modern game can possibly be absolutely flawless when it's released.praxiteles said:I work in software business as an R&D software engineer, and if i did such inelaborate work, I would definitely get fired. If a department does that, they would definitely get closed. If a product cannot provide its full features under any conditions 99.999% of the time (5 minutes a year), it is considered "failed". Unfortunately I cannot see a similar approach here.

So, devs work under heavy losses and have to make cut-throat decisions like "we'll release with this half-finished feature, drop this one and fix these bugs up with a patch a few months after release"
In some cases, the publisher won't even allow the continued work on the product, and the game will be released half-done with tonnes of bugs and never get any patches for it. (if anyone ever played Call To Power II they know what I talk about)
So, this is the harsh truth about how the gaming-industry works today. I don't like it, but I guess I have to like it for the time beeing. As long as ppl still buy half-finished games full of bugs, they will keep beeing released in that condition since the game-publishers can get away with it.
