Does it ever correct itself or will this one guy definately win the election? How popular/supported is this guy? I'm not familiar enough with the game to know the answer outright, but maybe he's so popular with the other senators that there isn't real competition
It apparently is the calculated winner, based on popularity, prestige etc. However, I've had a lot of elections that did not choose the 'next consul'.
It's happened to me twice now...in both cases the Consul-In-Waiting has enjoyed massive support (35+ Senators), so I wonder if it's just that he's the only one with a shot at winning the election.
In one case, the Consul-In-Waiting personally contributed 30% attraction rating for his party (Military Party - big shot general and conquerer, held several high govt posts - Consulship was kind of a capstone to a brilliant career), so it made a great deal of sense.
